“A kid who can advocate for themselves and who knows that what feels safe in their body matters more than making other people happy. That’s important.”-Virginia

Let’s STOP calling clients ‘non compliant’ and ‘treatment resistant’
And start calling them someone who:
•just needs more help and support.
•needs a different kind of support.
•is feeling really scared.
Compassion first always.
“God is our refuge and our strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way, and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.”
Psalm 46:1-3
We have been so duped into thinking every bodily ailment both mental and physical can be cured with a list of “superfoods”. Nutrition can’t and won’t fix everything, so stop believing people who sell you the lie that it can.
When we say dieting fails about 95% of the time, someone always pipes in with “that was only shown in one study from the 1950’s!” That is completely false. I put together of timeline of diet failure research here: https://t.co/bvUsjbcsNI
Forcing someone to lose weight should be viewed the same as forcing someone to take banned substances- ILLEGAL!!!
Enough is enough.

@Jasmine76625993 A lot like the side effects to my 2nd. Chills and achy - generally not feeling well from about 10 hrs after the shot -then felt fine about hour 36. Ibuprofen is great -I took it 3 times during that time period and it really took the edge off- I could feel when it was waning.
The concept of manipulating bodies to a “healthy weight” as a "healthcare intervention" drives a massive amount of harm to fat patients.

My 10 and 7 year old decorated the cake for #CubScouts to reference their dads job - who can guess what the gum drops are and what the drops are supposed to be?
Hint: Can’t spell “geek” without an “EE”
If you avoid a certain food because “you like it too much,” it might be a sign to start including it more often.
Giving yourself full permission to eat those foods often means that those foods will no longer hold power over us. You’re allowed to experience pleasure from food.
We have this narrative that the opposite of restriction is bingeing. Like if we aren’t dieting we have to be consuming large amounts of food until we’re sick. In my opinion the opposite of restriction is the absence of it & that’s where we find a healthy relationship with food.

CW: Eating disorders
There's been a lot of conversation (rightfully so!) about why we shouldn't talk about other people's bodies, even if it's a "compliment."
I wanted to share a little about what "compliments" did to my psyche as a person with an eating disorder.
Research shows that licorice root works better than acid-suppressive drugs for treating acid reflux.
Licorice works great for nausea too.
Use Deglycyrrhizinated licorice especially if you have high blood pressure. Read more here: https://t.co/Nu1ex7aEIi
