We're living in a nation of dying rivers so restoration is high up on the agenda.
But is there a right way to do it? One river in London could hold the answer to saving our waterways

Congratulations to our founder and Chair, Clare Gooden, whose achievements with the RHCG were recognised at the CPRE Hertfordshire Awards. She is so deserving of the “Special Award 2022” for her contribution to protecting Hertfordshire’s rivers. #riverhiz#chalkstreams#RHCG
On a rainy day like today let’s marvel at these beautiful morning shots of the #RiverHiz at Ickleford Common, taken by one of our brilliant volunteers. #chalkstream
Lovely to see that a fellow chalk stream is being reconnected with its groundwater at #gadebridge park. Sad that only half of the reach is being restored and includes a number of "dipping platforms", which defeats of the object of chalk stream restoration! @DacorumBC#gade
We will be at Gadebridge Park with @DacorumBC & @AffinityWater on Tues 21 Sept near the 'Splash Park Kiosk' between 11am - 4pm
Come and talk to us about the plans to improve the River Gade and Gadebridge Park.

Volunteers have been removing litter on the #riverhiz today. A fallen tree has lead to the formation of some lovely marginal habitat, but the dam effect means it’s also a hotspot for all the rubbish from #hitchin and #ickleford, 15 tennis balls & 5 lighters included! #chalkstream
