Samastipur- Sonam Kumari, an Intermediate student, was murdered in broad daylight on Monday in Kejiya village.

The victim's mother, Sangita Devi, stated that her daughter had received a death threat the previous day (Sunday) from someone pressuring her to get married.

It is alleged that after she refused the marriage proposal, a local youth, aided by his associates, riddled her with bullets in the middle of the road early Monday morning. Meanwhile, the police are piecing together the sequence of events based on technical evidence, mobile location data, and eyewitness accounts.

Sonam Kumari, had set out for school on foot early Monday morning, dressed in her school uniform as usual.
However, near the 'Malang Sthan' in Kejiya village, bike-borne miscreants who were lying in wait targeted her and opened rapid fire.
She was shot four times at close range, resulting in her death on the spot.
