@sk_bongomin93 Please take note of the date Thursday 21st May. Ministry of Health current updates as of 5th June 2026 show 19confirmed cases, including 5 Ugandans, 2 imported deaths and 4 discharges.
Before we went on strike, I’d worked 6 months without pay. Many a day of which, I worked past 48 hour non stop shifts.
We were told no striking intern would be signed off for completion. We returned and most completed without being paid.
I was the single intern for the surgical unit, so I covered surgical procedures both day and night cases, the accident and emergency unit as well as review clinics.
I saw my supervisor once in the three months I was posted to surgical services.
There was no senior doctor.
Deciding not pay interns , means upcountry and referral hospitals are at risk of not being professionally covered .
Please pay Medical Interns .
@KCCAUG@KCCAED@KCCASpox@Buzeki_Sharifah@BenonKigenyi@NuweDan@HajjatMinsa The 0719 number was understandably busy, toll free number hang up after 2rings.On messaging the number shown under the WhatsApp icon, I was told to call/whatsApp the number on the poster…either edit it to reflect correct details or actually ‘swing into action’ like you claim.
@SpireJim This is #FakeNews! The American doctor was treating Ebola patients in the DRC. MOH situation report on the Bundibugyo Ebola Virus Disease(BUVD) 21/5/26,Uganda has only had 2 ebola cases, both patients of Congolese descent. 1 dead, another recovering in ETU
Regarding #Uganda, the Ministry of Health has not been engaged on the establishment of the treatment centres referred to here, and we are therefore not aware of where they may have been set up within the country.
We continue to affirm that Uganda has so far registered only two imported Ebola cases: one fatality and one patient currently responding well to treatment under close medical care. There are no local infections and the country remains safe.

@like_a_gem By then it will be too late..this Bundibugyo strain kills quickly once one is infected. Cf the case fatality rate in DRC with rising numbers daily, 139 deaths with 600suspected cases as of today. Prevention is still better than cure, especially where cure is not guaranteed
@like_a_gem The missing link is that at any point in the near future, any of the 127 contacts that include Ugandans could potentially test positive and change status to an ebola case
@NIRA_Ug@NIRA_ED Why is Namugongo Catholic Shrine office closing the National ID pick up at only 13.40hrs? The operations have already been scaled down to pick-ups on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays as it is, and after enduring the long queues, it is unfair to close before 5pm!
@NIRA_Ug@NIRA_ED Imagine there are only 3 computers for this large number! No segregation of queues for those picking up, new registration and those simply checking the status. One of the staff here said they’re only working on those that had already registered by 1pm.
@like_a_gem The two as earlier stated are Congolese. These are cases(i.e infected, tested positive for Ebola) One is late(died in the Kibuli Hospital on 15th May 2026 as per the gov’t presser), the other is being treated in the Ebola Treatment Unit at Mulago
@SafeBoda@jinjacity@KintuAlexwest Is it on delivering helmets that have been paid for close to 3 weeks prior that you draw the line, despite claiming ‘processing in 5 working days’ ?
