New: Seven of the 11 police officers injured during the disorder in Southampton last night were hit by bricks thrown towards them.
Spencer Wragg, Chair of Hampshire Police Federation, said: “Mob 'justice' has no place on our streets – the rule of law and due process must be paramount. The perpetrators of such violence against our colleagues should and will face the full force of the law. We expect more arrests to follow.
“Officers were subjected to disgraceful violence – pelted with bottles, bricks and wheelie bins."
1/5 A spokesperson for Hampshire Police Federation said: "The murder of Henry Nowak was a tragedy, our thoughts are with his family and friends.
"The officers' actions that night are subject to rigorous independent scrutiny and we must let that process run its course."

Mr Kelly told delegates: “What these figures show is the clear need for a zero-tolerance, no-nonsense approach by the courts and the Department @Justice_NI . We have called ‘time’ on assaults on our officers, and we look firmly to our courts and legislators to have our backs.” @ChiefConPSNI@Justice_NI@ExecOfficeNI #PFNIConference26
