@DougKass@TheStreetPro I completely agree with everything you’ve said. The Warsh Fed does not appear to be sympathetic at all to “supporting” this market. And, inflation likely gets worse before improving and that assumes the ceasefire holds. Valuation matters.
@NickNemo17 Nick - Q may have had a really poor 2008 - just don’t know if -40% is the # - but, their returns over a long period of time were exceptional and their emphasis was on credit.
@DowdEdward PE firm acquires a co at record valuation, charges 2 and 20 for the equity, then funds the deal with its wholly owned PC debt costing 10%+ and with fees of 1.5 and 17.5%. So, PE / PC firm is now earning fees across the entire capital structure - what could possibly go wrong?
@Aureliusltd28 The aggressive share repos have just begun and as the RESG book continues to decline towards 50% from a peak above 70%, more and more capital will be available to buyback stock. IMO this is a no-brainer here at a smidge above TBV, 7x eps and with a 1.75% ROA.
@StealthQE4 Lower end consumer is definitely stretched. But, I think the performance has likely more to do with the very expensive valuations for very low growth businesses.
@business Your social media presence is even more pathetic than your Bloomberg news presence. Stick to providing market data - you’re competent at that.
@BasedMikeLee 3% deficit worked when debt to GDP was 50%. Now that it’s over 100%, 3% is way too high. The number needs to be 1% deficit as % of GDP. Congress needs to do its job or they’re OUT!
Every real Republican should vote No. In 2019 our govt spent $4.5T vs $7.2T in 2024. 50% growth in spending is so out of control. Cutting $1T+ should be easy - get it done or you can’t run for office. In fact any deficit > 1% of GDP you can’t run.
@Aureliusltd28 I agree - crystallizing losses at a discount to TBV is wrong. Or, mgt can adjust their comp plan for the additional share dilution and eliminate CiC payments.
@Sassafrass_84@AlanFournier I’d recommend a total of 12 years can be served combined. And, switch the house term to 4 yrs from 2 so these jerks don’t start having to campaign the day after they get elected. can’t lobby for 5 yrs.
@elonmusk@realDonaldTrump@howardlutnick Scott Bessent is much more qualified to be Treasury Secretary. Given the financial situation of our Govt, we need experience in this role. Lutnick simply isn’t qualified.
