Someone searched for a Munich publishing company on Google. the AI Overview came back with:

"Yes, [company] is known for dubious business practices."

then added a summary. red flags. tips for users to avoid the scam.

confident and structured but was completely made up.

the sources the AI cited said none of that the AI mixed the company up with genuinely shady firms and invented connections that existed nowhere on the internet.

the publishers sent Google a cease-and-desist. Google didn't respond adequately.

so they went to court.

the court's ruling:
AI Overviews are not search results. they are Google's own words. Google rewrote the web "in its own words and according to its own structure." therefore Google is the author. therefore Google is liable.

Google's defense: users know AI makes mistakes and should double-check.

the court's response: that's not how publishing law works.

Google's statement after the ruling: "AI Overviews are designed to reflect information that already exists on the web."

the information that destroyed two companies' reputations did not exist on the web.

the AI wrote it.

Google published it.

a court just decided those are the same thing.

every AI search engine. every chatbot. every platform that takes information and synthesizes it into a confident answer is now looking at this ruling.

🚨 JUST IN: Instagram Hit with 3 Critical Exploits in 2026 🚨

Meta’s platform has been a complete mess this year. Three major security flaws exposed users for days — some still active.

Exploit 1: Meta AI TakeoverHackers simply chatted with Meta’s AI support and got full account access. High-profile accounts (even Obama’s White House IG) were hijacked. ✅ Patched (but damage already done).

Exploit 2: Mass Ban Exploit (Still Working) Just report a target account for “scam & fraud” multiple times and watch it get disabled. No real verification needed.

Exploit 3: Phone & Email Reveal Exploit (Still Working) Sensitive backup phone numbers and emails exposed uncensored. Arabic hackers reportedly scraped millions of accounts already.

The bare minimum Meta could do right now is offer fast unsuspensions + proper support for everyone affected.
Instead, it looks like Mark Zuckerberg is staying silent and hoping it all blows over. 😶

Absolutely ridiculous that @Meta as a trillion dollar+ company, is allowing tens of 1000’s of accounts to be disabled with zero human support or accountability.

Last week Meta said the problem has been “patched” regarding the Meta AI exploit which allows people to target & change the email address of nearly any Instagram account without any verification whatsoever by manipulating it’s AI.

Guess what? They haven’t fixed anything or even made a public statement about it.

No appeal, no review, just permanently disabled accounts.

My business runs through Meta platforms & instantly overnight I’ve lost 1000’s of hours of work, all of my data & a significant income source, all without any explanation or even a chance to appeal or review it’s obvious AI exploit.

I’ve never once violated a single community guideline in the last decade+ and am an active Meta Verified subscriber.

And the saddest part of all of this, is that it opens the door for endless grifters & scammers charging $1000’s in attempt to help recover your account. 90% of which don’t work and the 10% that do are employees at Meta profiting of this massive exploit.

I’ve already paid & been scammed by multiple guys claiming they can get it recovered.

What an absolute clown world meta has become.

Meta allowed my single character Instagram username (@i) to be stolen through an exploit in their platform, dating back to February this year.

My email, password and phone number were never compromised — yet somehow a hacker was able to gain access to my account 🧵

Today Instagram had this massive exploit where hackers were just stealing rare handles left and right. Hundreds of accounts gone.

People losing handles they’ve owned since 2010, some worth hundreds of thousands.

I own a few rare ones so I was actually stressed watching this happen in real time, which I haven’t been in years.

Obama White House account got hit.

These aren’t some random new accounts, these are verified, locked down accounts and they still got compromised.

The thing is the exploit is so simple it’s almost funny. Attacker goes to Forgot Password, says their account is hacked, turns on a VPN to match the target’s location (which now you can find on the about section of the page).

Instagram’s AI support flow asks them to verify with a selfie.

They grab a photo from the target’s profile, run it through an AI video generator to make an animation of the person’s face moving around, upload that to Meta’s AI as proof.

And Meta’s AI just accepts it because it can’t tell the difference between a real selfie and an AI-generated video of someone’s face

Once verified they change the email to theirs. Password reset link goes to their email. They own it now. 2FA gets bypassed somehow in the process but honestly I don’t know exactly how, just that it did.

Point is even locked down accounts went down.

Then you try to recover your account and you’re talking to a chatbot that has zero ability to help.

You can’t escalate to a human. You’re just stuck. Your asset is gone and there’s no one to call.

The whole thing just highlighted how stupid it is to automate account security without any human in the loop.

One AI fooling another AI while there’s literally no person anywhere to catch it.

Meta took hours to even acknowledge it while accounts were getting stolen every minute.

Now thankfully it’s patched but I don’t think it will be the last one. Stay safe!

#BREAKING One Nation leader Pauline Hanson has declared she’s ready to be the “Prime Minister of Australia” and is seriously considering running for a seat in the House of Representatives.

Her comments come after a recently published Redbridge Accent Research seat by seat projection showed One Nation could win more than 50 seats at an election.

In the wake of the polling, Ms Hanson said she believed she was capable of leading the country as the Prime Minister.
