@AndyStaples TV ratings sounds amazing for non-stop ND vs. Bama/Mich/Texas matchups.... except 50% of college football fans won't watch the super league because their team isn't in it.... and with time the number of fans of teams in the league decline after 2-10 records for several seasons.
@Bomb3r_CFBMafia@WinterSportsLaw I think it’s been made clear by the others that if the Big10 and SEC want to break away, it won’t be in football only. They will be on their own in all sports.
@farsideagm@CZ49557056@WinterSportsLaw The Big10 gets 10-12 billion per year in federal research money from the very same congress (kinda puts its 1.4 billion in athletic rev in perspective). Plenty of high end research universities outside those 2 conferences that would welcome more of those research funds.
@EarlyTimes85@StockTalks21 You listed the 5 “consensus” all-Americans. I just said players that have had all-American honors. According to Grok it’s actually 31 players now, I was wrong. You know who isn’t one of them? The one who couldn’t even crack a 10 player deep 1st team all-conference team this year.
@EarlyTimes85@StockTalks21 ISU has had 22 players with all-american honors. 50-60 players with 1st team all-conference honors. It took Milan 3 seasons to crack 2nd team after the Big 12 went to 10 players on 1st team. He was 3rd best on his team this year and 5th best last year. He is an ISU side note.
@pogstandard@thedtoxx You can put a red X next to “elite rebounder” and while you’re at it, add a few more next to “lock down defender” just for a more accurate visual effect.
@EverydayCyclone 20 years from now he will be an answer to an Iowa State trivia question about “which player once set the NCAA record for 3 point percentage?” Unlike a legend, however, he will be unworthy of an Iowa State Hall of Fame induction or having his jersey retired in the rafters.
@KeithMurphy@AndrewCDowns@Murph_Andy Is this some sort of trick question? Because I don’t watch woman’s bball and I don’t see Penn State or Kentucky on the schedule?
@ZachSchumaker In his 3 seasons with ISU, he was - at best - the 4th best player in year 1, the 5th best in year 2, and then the 3rd best this season. Below average defense and rebounding. Struggles to create his own shot. NBA 2nd rounder. But sure, KY can act like he’s a lotto pick.
@MoenAfterDark@Running_Ryan Now we are defining “the government?” Let’s clarify where these “state” institutions get their funding. The Big 10 institutions get 10-12 billion in research funds from the federal government per year. You think the presidents are more worried about the 1.4 in athletic revenue?
@MoenAfterDark@Running_Ryan You are not for the government regulating institutions, denying freedom of association to institutions, taking sovereignty away from institutions, we get it…. but just to clarify, I thought we were talking about government owned institutions for about 90% of them? Are we not?
@CycloneKingdom Your Milan lovefest is getting real annoying. Milan will now be a side note in Cyclone history. An answer to a trivia question on which player once set a record for a 3 point shooting stat. Beyond that he was never even one of the 2 best players on the team in any given year.
@Thomprobert66@u_fullback Well if we did the past 5 years instead it’s a totally different picture. Or the past 30 years even. Care to add up conference tourney titles or Sweet 16’s over the past 30 years? Yes, the Steve Prohm era ended in disaster. Otz still had us in Sweet 16 the very next year.
@USFBullsTboned The Big 12 will win over the ACC because they’ve already had all their top brands pouched. Next it’s the ACC’s turn, as they will lose FSU, Clemson, NC, Miami, leaving the middle tier ones to jump into the Big 12. ACC has too many football bottom feeders (Wake, BC, Cuse, etc).
