Out of the many snow day photos I have posted, this has gathered more attention than the others. A very young boy looking at the snow from his room at Children’s Of Alabama.

I asked the mom, Haley Smith, to share a little more of the story. This is shared with her permission

“His name is JW, he has been swelling all over his body last few weeks.

Lab work is kinda all over the place, Children’s has a phenomenal team that’s running tests, scans, and scope procedures over the next few days to hopefully get answers.

God knows what it is and we ask for prayers for complete healing of his body, an answer to it all with and easy fix with no life long problems!”

My grandmother was 3 when women got the right to vote. My mother was 17 when the Voting Rights Act provided that all Black women in our nation had the right to vote. Let that sink in. Then strongly consider going to exercise your right to vote on November 5.

During a recent stay at a @Hilton @HiltonHotels property a man used a key and came in the hotel room where I and my 9-year-old son were staying. It was about 9:30 p.m. and we were in bed. When we called for help, the front desk put us on hold and hung up without speaking.
