There are nine foundational concepts in the figure below:
1⃣No Muscles, No Power
2⃣Stamina & Performance at First Breakpoint
3⃣Fueling The Burn
4⃣Fitness is expressed as a rightward shift of the lactate curve
5⃣There is an optimal sequence to training periodization. We start with a focus on health, shift towards metabolic fitness, add general capacity then finish with specific preparation.
6⃣Fast and hard are not the same thing
7⃣Continue base training as long as it continues to shift the curve
8⃣The bike is the safest place to ramp endurance volume
9⃣Fitness is a time series of performance
