Last week, I attended the BES meeting for the first time and enjoyed a range of fascinating talks. I also had the opportunity to present our project on the predicted impacts of climate change on the germination of UK tree populations. @KewScience @BritishEcolSoc
December's #SeedOfTheMonth is sweet chestnut (Castanea sativa). We're researching cryopreservation approaches for conserving seeds and pollen of this species through our #GlobalTreeSeedBank project funded by @WestonFdn@clare_callow
Check out this blog about our @ForestryComm funded project on plasma and phenotyping technologies for improving tree seed quality 🌳🌲

🌱 Check out our recent blog post on tree seed germination under climate change, where we share insights from our current research. #SeedScience#ClimateChange
It took months to grow seedlings from seeds of some species featured in these photos. Take the quiz by @pagomba and see if you can identify the seedlings! All species are part of our Seed Traits for Tree Production project at the Millennium Seed Bank. Happy National Tree Week!

🌱Hello to everyone interested in extracting seed measurements from images!🌱
I’ve released an experimental version of Traitor with a feature requested by some users: ordered output to keep track of individual seeds during analysis.🧵👇

3/ The feature is helpful for analyses where tracking individual seeds or objects is essential. Otherwise, the original version is still recommended! I have not widely tested this update, so please keep an eye on the results and let me know how it works for you.

🌸Paper alert🌸
Excited to share our latest work on pollen temperature tolerance (PTL) across various climates, growth forms and phylogenies! We explore the temperature limits (Tmin, Topt, Tmax) of 191 plant species critical to plant reproduction under climate change. 1/7
🚨 Seeking collaborators! I'm digitizing a large plant phenology dataset in Russian and need help from ecologists fluent in Russian. Co-authorship in the resulting paper offered! 🌱📊 Interested? Please reach out or share with your network. #Ecology#Phenology
