Since I’ve got some new people on my page—welcome!—it’s probably a good time to once again mention my books.
The Case Files of the Rocky Mountain Paranormal Research Society books are haunted histories and reports from open minded but skeptical paranormal investigations.
Arithmophobia is an anthology of mathematically inspired horror stories.
In the Woods is an anthology of horror and fantasy in woodland settings.
A little something for everyone. Hope y’all enjoy!
@realDrTT Your story is familiar. Probably to a lot of us. And yes, I think your solution is one of the important ones. The Church needs to send the intellectuals to the front lines, so to speak.
@Rosie_Gamgee_ There are books I dislike. Some I might even classify as “slop” if I could stand the word. But The Count of Monte Cristo is not one of those.
@Xtopher_Uzo The way I see it, God binds Himself to the sacraments but is not bound by them. I think we err severely in underestimating the Divine Mercy, but we err equally in presuming it outside of the sacraments.
@BishopBarron Been meaning to see that film. I'm a horror movie nerd through and through, but I've been going through it lately. If Bishop Barron recommends a horror movie, though, you KNOW I've got to get my tuchus over to the theater to see it!
Requesting prayers again!
Some of you know bits and pieces of what's going on and some don't know anything. Probably no one outside the family quite knows the extent of it all (by design) but I need all the help I can get!

@Catholic_bro Editor here. The God is always capitalized. A random god is not. And when a character decides to blaspheme but isn't necessary referring to the God or to a random god, I never quite know what to do!
@CatholicDrip___ Imagine the hubris to say Mary isn't better than oneself!
I don't even like comparing myself to random schmucks, I'm so horrible, much less daring to compare myself to the Mother of Christ!
@akafaceUS a) That's not 2700 calories of rice.
b) Sometimes you want calorie-rich food and sometimes you want calorie-poor food. Neither is necessarily better or worse. It depends on context.
@Sassafrass_84@ken_kmak8542 I think capital punishment should remain on the law books as a reminder of the gravity of certain crimes, but should be nearly impossible to carry out in actual practice except for the most extraordinary of crimes.
It’s the Monday after Fan Expo Denver. Most people consider this a day of rest and recovery. I’m off to visit my father in hospital and then pack for another conference next weekend.
