@sterlingcrispin 400% returns is compelling. Compute bottleneck though. Have you looked at sovereign AI programs? UAE's TII funds pure R&D like this.
@TomHutc36490321 How did Estonia implement digital ID without it becoming a surveillance tool? Citizens own their data logs. UK chose centralization. Architecture matters.
OpenAI and Anthropic are making this happen fast. "Loop Engineering" seems to be the industry's next goalpost for SWEs.
2024: use AI as a tool for coding
2025: prompt AI to code for you
2026: prompt the AI that prompts the AI that codes
and if you think this won't work because it's a token burner or that taking the dev more out of the loop would create exponential "slop," the industry and its recent layoffs proved they're not looking for what's the "right" approach as long as everyone else is doing it.
makes you wonder what the next goalpost is for companies to convince their existing developers that they matter until we get to the point that they decide hiring a dev, even WITH AI skills, isn't needed either because AI can go one step further and do their job.
@iam_chonchol Agentic testing loops make sense in theory. 42% to 93% delivery improvement though, vendor data or independent? Self-repair patch acceptance rates matter more.
The UAE was among the first countries to appoint a Minister of AI in 2017.
Today, AI is being integrated into government services, education, and infrastructure.
Which sector do you think will benefit most from AI by 2030?
Thank you everyone here for the last 48 hours - it's been a bit wild. The power of X is magical. Thank you @elonmusk and @nikitabier. I am the #1 trending developer on @github for the second day in a row, @slashlast30days just hit 30k stars and I just hit 30k X followers. Also /last30days is the #1 trending repo on github for the second day in a row.
@KanikaBK Attrition not layoffs, same pattern in US tech. If CS roles contract that fast, where does talent go? UAE deploying AI and hiring at scale for it.
I have an android phone with a secret OS on it that turns it into the Tricorder in Star Trek.
Apple and Google will resist this because one app then rules them all.
The guy @Shmall who did it would get me to buy one.
It is a way better expression of the “anything app” idea that I have seen.
@nothing could push it.
I bet an “AI Phone” will find a lot of buyers.
But when I see this below I realize that things will eventually get really crazy.
AWS UAE region still not operational after the attack on its data center back in March.
Wonder if Azure is capitalizing on it by offering only higher end, pricier instance types in a region with strict data locality rules.
You might have seen this image. What was the original paper by Mert Demirer and team from @MITSloan actually about?
If you think it's about AI slop, it's not.
They measured how coding agents impact software output across the entire vertical chain from writing code, to PR, to releases. Similarly, from app building to adoption.
They found coding agents dramatically increase the upstream output (like writing code), but the downstream output (like releases) only saw moderate or no gain.
The reason? "Weak links"
Coding agent is speeding up some steps along the vertical chain like code writing or app creation, and that exposes weak links like human code review and app distribution that are increasingly the bottleneck.
I think the real lesson here is that there's massive value to be created in reducing or controlling these weak links

10x everything? Microsoft cut 15,000 while investing $18.5B in India. Capital follows deployment. UAE targeting 50% government AI in 2 years. Where else is demand this concrete?
Most of the quality AI-buildout names, no matter the valuation, are at least a 10x in a decade
Think of any company in the supply chain and 10x the market cap. Does it sound crazy over a 10-year timeframe, considering the power and progress of AI?
The opportunity is insane
MICROSOFT QUIETLY MOVED AWAY FROM OPENAI AND BUILT 7 OF ITS OWN AI MODELS
Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman personally unveiled them at Microsoft Build 2026.
What they can do:
→ generate images in PowerPoint and OneDrive
→ transcribe audio in 43 languages
→ generate emotional speech/voice
→ write code in VS Code and GitHub
→ solve complex tasks
All of the models were trained from scratch - without using anyone else’s data.
Now companies can train AI on their own data without having to hand it over.
Over the last 15 years, computing power has increased by a factor of 1 trillion.
And Microsoft just showed what that actually means.
