Thank you @SenTomCotton !! No dst. Standard Time is best, for the health of all Americans and equally, to never repent history in 10 months. Once and for all, the USA will be on Standard Time 365 days of the year.
👏 US @RepMGS spoke in opposition to permanent Daylight Saving Time and in support of permanent Standard Time on the House floor earlier this month—thank you!
Thank you, @SenTomCotton, for stopping permanent Daylight Saving Time last year! Please stop it again this year, and replace it with permanent Standard Time!

One of the most interesting real-world experiments on daylight saving time happened in Western Australia.
Before 2006, Western Australians had already rejected seasonal (not permanent) daylight saving time in three separate referendums. Supporters argued that the public simply needed to experience it firsthand—that once people lived with later sunsets during the summer, they would come to appreciate the benefits.
So the government authorized a three-year trial of just summer daylight saving time, beginning in 2006. For three consecutive summers, Western Australians set their clocks forward and lived under DST for just the summer with the understanding that the people—not politicians—would have the final say afterward.
Then came the referendum in 2009.
After actually living with daylight saving for three summers, the voters rejected it once again even more. Roughly 55% voted “No,” making it the fourth referendum in which Western Australia rejected daylight saving time.
Since then, Western Australia has remained on standard time year-round.
Whether you support or oppose daylight saving, this is an important reminder: real-world experience doesn’t always confirm the predictions of advocates. In Western Australia, supporters believed that a trial would win people over. Instead, after experiencing it firsthand, the public reaffirmed its preference for standard time.
Sometimes the best evidence isn’t a model or a theory—it’s what people decide after they’ve actually lived with a policy.
Congress is not serious.
We are voting on a stock trading ban for members of Congress…
BUT Republicans added voter-ID in the legislation.
Not to get Dems to vote for voter-ID,
but to get them to vote against the stock trading ban, so they can use it in the Nov. election.
In Georgia with permanent standard time, kids wake in the dark for school 4months. That’s called winter.
Because we have 8 months DST…that doubles it to 8 months of WINTER IN GEORGIA.
Kids in Georgia are not in school before sunrise with standard time. With permanent DST that would be >4 months!
You want your kids to have zero months or 4 months circadian rhythm screwed? Are you really a parent?
Historical and scientific polling show greater support for permanent Standard Time (Sunshine for Our Kids Act), not permanent Daylight Saving Time (Sunshine Protection Act).
Another study showing that daylight particularly in the morning, sets you up for a better night of sleep. This is another nail in the coffin of permanent daylight saving time.

The Sunshine Protection Act is a health disaster. Reject it LOUDLY. Morning light is essential for metabolic, hormonal, and circadian health. It's extremely detrimental to do what they're doing. The clock should be locked year-round, but it should be locked TO THE SUN. Permanent Standard Time is the answer. Speak up.
