Social media has made it easy for people to create different stories for people to read which I think has caused the quality to decrease because sometimes the story isn't even real or has little evidence. Lately I have just been seeing A LOT of gossip news. #GNED1411 8.3
13.2 #gned1411 Twitter could be used for quicker interactions with professors for short an easy questions. This way if someone had an easy question everyone would get the answer to it.
#GNED1411 14.3 #3 I loved learning about sites I had no experience with before, such as Padlet. If I had known about this site early on in my courses it would have been truly beneficial. One spot to study all! I may use it to keep a diary/journal going forward.
#GNED1411 14.3 #2 As several have stated the 3 most useful things learned would be to maintain privacy, always think before posting and never to give out personal information.
#GNED1411 14.3 #1 There wasn't anything truly surprising learned for me, exciting and new, yes, but not surprising, if that makes sense. Thrilled to have learned new skills which I will dive into in question #3 π€£
#GNED1411 14.2 I am unable to think creatively especially when it comes to technology but feel that web 3.0 will be scary and amazing all at the same time!
@colleen_cheung My thoughts exactly, it's very distracting if someone in front of you has their laptop open to FB or videos while you're trying to concentrate on a lecture.
#GNED1411 13.3 I have mixed emotions about whether social media is useful or a distraction in classes. It CAN be beneficial if incorporated into the course, but just surfing FB or Twitter during class is not good and distracts those around you.
#GNED1411 13.2 I like that social media has played a big part in my learning at DC. A facebook group for our class has helped with reminders etc but I would love to see FB groups that include the prof to answer group questions.
#GNED1411 13.1 Our social media class is dedicated to using social media, especially Twitter. I love that a class can be made up primarily online with social media!
#GNED1411 12.3 I feel that digital activism is powerful! Having the ability for more people to make smaller donations and still make a difference helps everyone. I can't afford to help in a big way so knowing that I can help in a small way with the masses is incredible!
#GNED1411 12.2 The ALS Association came to light when the #ALSIceBucketChallenge started in the summer of 2014 Over $41 million was raised within one month worldwide and awareness was brought to the forefront!
