IMO it'd be a huge and expensive mistake trying to deliver an executive function that deals with everything in the first instance.
There needs to be an MVP focusing on a singular pillar that is mutually exclusive, e.g. lower infra costs for tooling providers. If it were me, I'd take the DReps on the journey to deliver outcomes, from strategy development, alignment, TWA, execution all the way through to continual improvement.
This would the baseline upon which future pillars could be tackled taking LLs from retros.
Also, "executive" shouldn't be seen to mean autocratic, it should be defined as "taking ownership of a mandate and accountability in delivering outcomes thereof.".
Extending this thinking to systems level; there is a sizeable TWA backed cost-efficiency opportunity for Cardano to buy & provision infra for selected open-source/non-profit tooling providers. It'll levarage economies of scale, buying power & deduplicate operational infra needs.
GM, if you're a dApp developer on @Cardano and you have (very) large @awscloud or cloud bills, I'd like to talk about it and see if there's anything that can be done to reduce costs.
IMO alternative to DAOs would be an initiative to acquire high-value ecosystem enablers; the problem isn't PMF, that's trivial - its the economies of scale of operating a tooling business solely for Cardano. It's a complex topic to put into 280 chars, but TWAs/DAOs are a funding engine - DRep contribution likely more valuable in alignment of strategic shortlist of enablers. Basically, we really need this 👇

I've begun a comprehensive governance review of over 11,000 DAOs and a decade of literature in and out of our space to study executive function, roadmap, and strategy setting. The goal will be to propose some ideas to add new features to Cardano's governance via the constitution and new technology that will resolve much of the conflict we are facing.
I'm considering if it is prudent at this point to become a Drep and to host a new mini-convention to get it done in time for the 2027 process. More on this later. #CardanoUnityAndClarity
1843. Ada Lovelace wrote the first algorithm for Charles Babbage’s Analytical Engine.
She saw the potential for programmable machines - before computers were even real.
From Ada to AlphaFold, Britain has shaped computing and AI.
Today, Ada's legacy continues.

Strictly speaking, it’s not your tool's job to tackle lazy voting - that change would need to come from Catalyst; you're making the voter's journey easier and doing a great job.
A suggestion on UI; tap-on-card to expand to full detail would likely encourage better voting practices.
Ref. AI/ML - nice use-case; just be aware that aggregating generated metadata of proposals and clustering on similarities has a high likelihood of outliers being prioritised lower when using free-text user input, or on the opposite end of the spectrum, using GenAI to summarise proposals and cross-check against voter criteria results in everything being accepted as a proposal of interest owing to keyword(s) gaming. Voter fatigue may consequently result in automatic regret for lower prioritised proposals.
Key distinction I've picked up on from that thread is that decision making is done by a few as opposed to the many (Cardano). Diverse backgrounds of DReps, while a net positive, also means a larger education piece is required to drive this ideology to success, amongst other efforts. A dedicated funding entity that would take ownership across all facets of a specialism like this would likely close the gap for Cardano. As things stand, we've not got the focus. Early days, I guess.
Oracles are infrastructure and should be supported by the chain itself in order to bootstrap the ecosystem and normalize their use. Having protocols roll their own or make off-chain calls to coinmarketcap apis isn't what we should settle for.
Not really a fair analysis, Mike. Some historical context here FYI; Pete's work with CardanoPress came about around 22/23 IIRC. This was at a time when devs were lacking in open-source low-code tools & his work here allowed them to get off the ground v. quickly enabling them to integrate many useful capabilities.
So the presupposition that one must have a business plan first isn't really applicable here IMO, as this was not the original motivation.
I think the post revolves around how to further develop something that has value, but in the context of it being open-source (maintenance needs), plus the usage constraints - what are the options to sustainably enable it to continue to be of use?
This gov proposal work kicked-off in Nov-2024; it was demanding. But this journey enabled us to make new friends, working on the ground with members of @CDEC_Cardano, @IntersectMBO, @InputOutputHK, @Cardano_CF, @emurgo_io & our incredibly diverse community of Cardano DReps. 🙏❤️
It also gave us the opportunity to reconnect with many many old friends - some have moved on, some are still around - a warm feeling, bringing back a lot of memories.
It feels like it was only yesterday, 2022, when we (@SmaugPool & @RockyBCAW) got together to discuss the challenges of displaying Cardano Native Assets on websites/apps. NFTCDN was born out of a necessity - it was never about building a multi-million dollar business - but about delivering a reliable, efficient and performant end-to-end community-supported solution to one of the biggest challenges to adoption and scaling in our ecosystem.
We have an amazing developer community here on Cardano - talented, innovative, motivated people. Every day an idea is sparked, and every day an idea is shelved. The limitations imposed on our developers are numerous and we have a long road ahead of us in making it easier, faster and cheaper to build with & on Cardano across the blockchain's many capabilities.
Whatever ones opinions are on Treasury Withdrawal prioritisation, amongst other necessities of our ecosystem, we believe it is also important to recognise the need for a strategic approach to support tooling services that will assist developers in their endeavours, and ultimately also benefit the end-users. We hope that our work here to date may serve as one example of how this can be delivered by critical infrastructure service providers like NFTCDN.
DReps - Thank you for voting yes, no and abstain - we have read all the rationales and reached out to each and every one of you where we could to discuss. We are humbled by all the help & support we have received from everyone in community; this journey has brought us closer to many - a one of a kind experience.
We continue to strive.
Most sincerely,
The NFTCDN Team
A friendly reminder to all #Cardano#DReps. At the moment, on average, more than 1 billion ADA in stake has not yet voted on each (so far) unapproved budget proposal. This includes some very large DReps. For example, here's one anonymous DRep https://t.co/do2mOIIxUY with 88M in voting power who has only ever voted on 3 proposals, the last time being 3 months ago. Voting power is excluded from the total after 100 days of DRep inactivity, but in this case, that will happen too late (August 22, 2025) - after the budget voting has already ended.
Please, if you haven't voted yet - cast your vote!
0.01%.
The difference between having & not having the ability for developers to integrate Cardano Native Asset display capability on their product - free for 18 months, then, as decided by DRep votes; open-sourced, decentralised or transferred.
Help us get across please. 🙏💙
Perhaps an opportunity to explore disbursements in stablecoin as opposed to ADA so as to capitalise on present-day appreciating ADA price in view of the fact that most proposals used $0.5/ADA baseline rate; more runway, more proposals funded, more value delivered for Cardano?
No more YES votes from me. I set a personal DRep limit to approve up to ₳200-250M of spending in 1st year of MVG. DReps approved 266M ADA.
I voted YES to ₳172M so far. @cardano_govtool will be my last YES vote this year (apart from emergencies). 1/2

DReps - We're 3.53% short of making a proven critical piece of Cardano infrastructure tooling available to devs for free & ultimately opensource / decentralise / transfer it to the Cardano ecosystem as directed by DRep signalling. We need your support to get us over the line 🙏
