Its a commentary on the very nice paper by Iyer and colleagues!
@tkulogo@RichardDawkins First, Europe wants to end this war, but only in terms that don't encourage Russia to start one in the near future. Territorial concessions to expansionist powers don't achieve lasting peace.
Second, refusing to pay isn't an excuse to side with the aggressor.
Second preprint now on biorxiv!! 🧵⬇️ thanks to all our co authors @MarijeHavermans@RogerMulet @SmeenkLeonie and others i cant find on here ! Also on bluesky 🦋: https://t.co/5zBEGIGlgj @erasmusmcblood
@DavidMavis11@LDS_Dems You are blaming the deaths on the Ukrainian president for refusing to bend over to foreign demands when threatened with war? That's an interesting perspective. Let Putin have Alaska when he asks for it then, or the entire US for that matter. Why cause unnecessary deaths?
@TheMitchMitchem@ylecun Prices have increased similarly everywhere outside the US. It has very little to do with who was in power at the time, and a lot with a global pandemic that disrupted supply networks. However, the US has experienced much higher economic growth than other developed countries...
EHA Research Conference in Malaga In March 2025:
"Transcriptional control and chromatin alterations in normal and malignant hematopoiesis"
Fantastic opportunity for junior investigators to present and discuss their work with young and experienced scientists.
Great program!
Congratulations to this year’s CBTH Scholars! Throughout the program, scholars explored a range of topics and were guided by mentors to elevate their projects to new heights. In addition to advancing their own research, they delved deeper into these key areas:
👉 Bayesian Statistics
️👉 Science Communication
👉 Multi-Layered Data Integration
👉 Data Visualization
👉 Proteomics
👉 Epigenetics
Would you like to join our next cohort? This free program will open for applications in June 2025! Don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity to elevate your skills in Computational Biology.

Erasmus Hematology Virtual Lecture.
We have:
Kellie Machlus, Boston Children’s , with
"Unraveling roles for megakaryocytes beyond platelet production through novel model systems"
Spread the news!

@theclotthickens
@pmddomingos@mattwridley That's a rather dishonest statement considering the evidence for the lab leak theory is largely circumstantial, and certainly not "overwhelming". Most published articles agree the virus had a natural origin -- are the authors dumb or is it a conspiracy?
Don't miss it!
Erasmus Hematology Virtual lecture
23 September at 16.00 CET with:
Alexander Bick, Vander Bilt University, Nashville.

Erasmus Virtual Hematology Lectures starts again on Monday September 2 at 16.00 CET!
We have MAXIM PIMKIN from Harvard/Boston with: "Gene-regulatory networks in leukemia maintenance and immune escape".

Proud of the review by Roger Mulet-Lazaro on "Oncogenic Enhancers in Leukemia" in Blood Cancer Discovery in August issue. Great stuff for teaching!

@RogerMulet@BCD_AACR
@elonmusk How does one maximize individual freedom by banning abortion?
Merit? Republicans regularly ignore the scientific consensus, while embracing unsubstantiated religious beliefs. Their presidential candidate doesn't even have the support of his former cabinet members.
New paper in NatureComm:
"Epigenetic alterations affecting hematopoietic regulatory networks as drivers of mixed myeloid/lymphoid leukemia".

Great Rotterdam/Regensburg collaboration: @RogerMulet@ClaudiaGebhard Bas Wouters @DelwelRuud Michael Rehli
Extremely grateful for receiving the EHA advanced research grant!
Looking forward delving deeper into the disease mechanisms underlying AML.
Congratulations to all EHA award winners!

@spatialweeb@ylecun @beaudjango It's simply untrue that the scientific community supports the lab leak hypothesis, let alone by consensus. Presenting it as a fact when it's not only makes you come across as dishonest.
@maxjaderberg@IsomorphicLabs@GoogleDeepMind Amazing work, but unfortunately the code hasn't been released. Thus, it's not as useful to the community as it would otherwise be. Pity.
A big thank you to everyone involved in this week's joint @EBItraining and @EHA_Hematology computational biology training in hematology (CBTH) course.
2025 applications are now open if you want to be in the next cohort of early-career researchers: https://t.co/WM6juTqJBa
