It was a pleasure to work with the incredible Jalal Norooz Oliaee & Chase Sun from the Metrology Research Centre @NRC_CNRC. We used their in-house developed sensors to measure & map natural sources of #methane. Jalal makes final preparations before a day of surveying. @GSC_CGC.
Just wrapped up fieldwork investigating CH4 release in the western Arctic with colleagues: @PeterfrostMorse, @leximollica, @claudiawood130, @JackieGoordial & Jalal & Chase from @NRC_CNRC. It was so nice to finally work with everyone in person. Here Peter takes notes at a #pingo.

@earthquakeguy@ForgeRat@knittingknots@schaefferaj @SediAlex Just over 100 km away there is evidence of past landslides along the edge of the Beaufort shelf. Although these slopes are identified as stable, an earthquake would potentially be a mechanism for failure given the presence of the shallow gas. https://t.co/kjVmvLBIyK
Thought it would be interesting to see what the #wildfire smoke from the US west coast looks like from space using #MODIS imagery. #VancouverIsland begins to get shrouded in smoke on September 12th.
@alisonlbird Same issue for us. Try adding two kids and a College student all on Skype or Zoom at once. I had to order an upgrade to our plan yesterday.
We just had our #ShakeOutBC drill and had 95% participation. How did your office do? Did you Drop, Cover, and Hold On? Be prepared for the real thing with these online resources: https://t.co/r0t92Pr7Hq

Earthquake research (including studies of past and present earthquakes) provides the key input for earthquake hazard models. In #Canada, earthquake hazard has been used in national building codes since 1953 (updated in 1970, 1985, 2005 and 2015).
