From coaching rival programs twenty years ago to working together the past 8 years, Randy Wilson is THE VERY BEST. Everyone who has had the pleasure of his company agrees 💯
Best wishes as he fully retires from coaching. So thankful he shared this past XC season with us, and we were able to finish off his career with a championship that reflects his contributions. So many lives blessed by him!!! Especially my own 🥲

Always amazed me how well we executed the 23-Second Drill as our first lactate workout of the year.
No aerobic-focused workouts, no laps, low-volume.
All speed and power.

Claremont Country Club - 1904
Alister MacKenzie
It’s easy to get caught up seeking out the big name courses, but in doing that you risk missing out on some of the coolest places in golf.
Claremont is one of those places.
In the heart of Oakland just south of Berkeley, MacKenzie designed one of his most clever routings. A small piece of land with lots of hills and ridges, he had to think outside the box to make good use of it.
With such a small space, he made an 18 hole, par 68 course. Rather than try to force in 2 or 4 extra strokes to be accepted as a “normal” course, he allowed the land to dictate par.
It’s a fun and quirky course. 3 holes criss cross, so make sure you pay attention where you walk! There are natural rock formations and holes built into ridges on the hill. There are so many unique and interesting design features.
The conditions are perfect and the bunkering is just fabulous. The turf crew here definitely knows how to keep a golf course green but also firm, which isn’t easy.
The clubhouse is one of the best in golf. A great locker room with 95 year old lockers. A killer patio overlooking 18. An amazing burger dog at the turn. It’s a trip back in time.
Claremont is a hidden gem and awesome in every way!
The Criss Cross holes at Claremont!
Alistair MacKenzie had a challenge with the routing here. How do you fit 18 holes on such a small piece of land?
One of his tricks is the criss cross! 2 holes play directly over the fairway of another. This a feature I’ve only seen at the Old Course at St. Andrews.
How do you keep it safe and organized? The group on the higher number hole always has the right of way.
It’s an awesome way to use the land and works wonderfully. One of my favorite features I’ve seen this year!
