We have shown that FABP7, a molecule primarily expressed in the brain, is elevated in astrocytes and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of patients with secondary progressive multiple sclerosis (SPMS), and it promotes inflammation in monocytes by enhancing glycolysis.
