የዛሬ ሰባት አመት ገደማ ከኤርትራ ጋር ሰላም ከወረደ ወዲህ 'መርህ አልባ' የሆኑ በርካታ ግንኙነቶች እንደነበሩ ተደጋግሞ ይነሳል።

ለእኔ አንዱ እና ዋነኛው የነበረው የኤርትራ ልኡክ ቡድኖች በተደጋጋሚ የኢትዮጵያ አየር ሀይልን እና መከላከያን እንዲጎበኙ እና የፈለጉትን መረጃ እንዲይዙ ማስቻላችን ነበር። በአንድ ወቅት አንድ የወታደራዊ ሀላፊ የኢትዮጵያ ቴሌቭዥን ላይ ቀርበው 'ስለምናምናቸው ያለንን በሙሉ አሳየናቸው' ያሉት ትዝ ይለኛል።

ሌላው ቀርቶ የኤርትራው ፕሬዝደንት ልጅ ብሄራዊ ሙዚየም ተገኝቶ "ይሄ የእኛ ነው፣ ያኛውም የእኛ ነው" እያለ የሀገር ታሪክ እና ቅርስ ሲመርጥ እንደነበር መረጃው አለኝ።

ከኤርትራ ጋር ያለው ግንኙት ተቀዛቅዞ አሁን ያለበትን ሁኔታ እንረዳለን፣ አሁንም ግን በተመሳሳይ ከተባበሩት ኤምሬትስ ጋር ገደቡ እና መርሁ በግልፅ የማይታወቅ ተመሳሳይ ግንኙነት እንዳለ እናውቃለን።

'ከእኛ ምን አግኝተው እነሱስ ምን ሰጡን' የሚለው ራሱን የቻለ ጥያቄ ቢሆንም አሁንም ግዜው ሳይረፍድ የሀገርን ሚስጥር በአደባባይ ማስጣት ሊቆም ይገባል። ሌላ ሀገር ቢሆን 'የሀገርን ጥቅም አልፎ በመስጠት' የሚባል ከፍተኛ የሆነ ወንጀል መሆኑን ልብ ይሏል።
