Öcalan’s ideological frameworks of democratic confederalism and democratic autonomy prescribed the means to civilizing war amid a civil war. The idea behind this hybrid framework was to skillfully play the political game — by overturning the gameboard.

My philosophical farewell to Rojava. I trace the origins of the creeping authoritarianism in Rojava and settle accounts with anti-strategic thinkers such as Rancière and Balibar. I show why strategic considerations have been integral to my works on Rojava.https://t.co/xwXbzJs1FY
“What really matters is to render life valuable. The homeland isn’t an ideal, it is merely a tool for the life of the individual and the nation.” #Öcalan
@HarleyShah I'm afraid there are a few mistakes there:
1- "Iranian" is not the same thing as "Persian". Iran has many ethnicities: Kurdish, Baloch, Arab, Gilak, etc. Persian is only one of them. Even after centuries of assimilation, only 50% of Iranians speak Persian as their first language
“Somehow, after a half-century excursion across the heights of American greatness, the country had returned to the exact same place. All the questions in Afghanistan had been the questions in Vietnam.”

Promoting #Taliban as a decolonising movement is denying women education. Academics who promote this narrative, can’t you see that #Taliban does not let women enter universities? Can you live such a life for a week? Easy to talk none-sense from the comforts of your luxurious life
As if Taliban, once legitimized, is not just as capable of toeing the imperialist line as any Western neoliberal state. As if fundamentalist actors are incapable of running pro-market, counterrevolutionary states. The cluelessness about neoliberal geopolitics is just baffling.
