On the other hand, they keep saving me a lot of money, I have a lifetime worth of games in my library and devices.

They need us more than we need them.

Same goes for the obsession with "originality", art doesn't exist in a vacuum, something has to inspire it.

@DaLooseGoose90 @IcyRhythms Newer games will always have the advantage, I just don't consider it a good argument to put age as a negative against a game's visuals with how many timeless classics are out there.

This is specially true if we're looking at something like MGS3 looking amazing for a 22 year old game.

To even claim this makes the visuals of what came before retroactively "bad", that's a rather anti-art way to look at things.
