Nasrallah was *my* terrorist.
Each one of us grows up watching a terrorist on TV threatening to kill us.
For many Americans, it was Osama Bin Laden.
For me, it was Nasrallah.
I grew up in Northern Israel.
Every few years, Nasrallah would target us with a barrage of rockets. His rockets would be directed at nearby Jewish towns, but of course they miss and fall in Muslim towns in Israel. My town was one of them.
Imagine the irony.
US college students can not understand this.
*My* terrorist is dead today. It's great news not just for me, but for many Syrians, Lebanese, Saudis, and..Israelis.
I am naively optimistic.
But I hope today sends a signal to people in the Middle East that moderation, acceptance of reality and coexistence is the only way.
Terrorism way will always end up in failure. Always.
Even if it takes 32 years to arrive.
This is the best interview I have EVER seen.
Ever; ever; ever; nothing comes close.
Douglas Murrey has a heart โ and mind โ of gold.
And what unfolds in this seven-minute clip is something you need to watch for yourself. (Once you see it halfway through, youโll know exactly what Iโm referring to.)
But he articulates something which I have been trying to share for the past month:
The Nazis, as fundamentally evil as they were, believed that they were engaging in a necessary evil for an ultimate good; they still had a spark of humanity at their core; thus, their main flaw was that they believed the ends justified the means; even though they fully believed in the โresultโ of a world without Jews, they were still fundamentally opposed to the โactionsโ they were taking.
This is what motivated the Nazis to find ways of circumventing the existential moral decay they were entering, and allowed them to get creative by using the gas chambers, mass shootings (in the BACK of the head โ to avoid direct facial contact), and other passive forms of mass annihilation, while also having as few Nazis as possible actually involved in these acts of murder; they then encouraged those individuals who were involved in this atrocity of mass murder to get drunk every night in order to wash away the person they started seeing in the mirror.
Thus, the existential decay of these individual Nazis actively involved in the mass murder of the Jewish People was simply seen as another layer of โthe ends justify the means.โ
They were the epitome of โWesternโ evil.
Hamas is the exact opposite.
This IS their value system.
They prize death, murder, rape, suicide missions, and everything that opposes the very foundation of values and truth to begin with.
The events of October 7th was not an end to a meansโฆ there is no future goalโฆ this IS the goal.
They are the epitome of an evil the likes of which we have never before seen.
Please โ I know this is social media and some people only watch 60-second soundbites; but please, please, please watch this brilliant interview.
Douglas Murray โ you are a credit to everything worth being credited.
@joshdubnau@yoavgo Every death is a tragedy, but Hamas is to blame. It decided on one peaceful Saturday morning to butcher and kidnap children in their homes . They are the real enemy of the Palestinian people. Every sane person must accept this fact
@joshdubnau@yoavgo if Hamas had built their bases outside residential areas they were 0 Palestinian civilian casualties. They use these bases to launch horrific violence Israeli civilians. Israel has no choice but to defend itself, and it tries to minimise civilian deaths.
In these darkest days our country have ever known, we somehow manage to do science. Our new paper shows how #metabolism of immune cells predicts patients response to ICI. Ofir finished this paper while in reserve duty helping to bring our people back home

Dear Greta,
Justice requires punishing Hamas perpetrators of the Oct 7 massacre of 1400 Israelis.
Freedom for Palestinians requires getting rid of Hamas that started its rule of Gaza by killing 450 Palestinian rivals in 2007, arrested and tortured Gazan protesters as late as this summer.
Ceasefire means Hamas getting away with its Oct 7 crime and continuing to deprive Gazans of their freedom. This a ceasefire is the antithesis of justice for Israeli and freedom for Palestinians.
Advocating for action on climate is great. But if they donโt teach you enough about Mideast affairs in Europe, just ask. Will be happy to answer your questions.
amazing interview. two selected quotes:
"we wanted them to believe that we were busy with governing, that we care for 2.5m palestinians, that we gave up on resistance. but under the table we were preparing for this"
"israelis love life. but our wish is to die for the land"
As a Muslim CEO in tech, let me just say this:
Hamas is an evil terrorist organization that needs to be wiped off the face of the Earth.
Murdering innocent civilians (children, babies, families asleep in their homes) goes against every single teaching of the Qur'an.
May they all rot in Hell.
I pray for peace and innocent lives to be spared as Israel completes this task. But complete it, I hope they do.
I wonder if the parents of these students solely blamed the US for 9/11.
How can you watch the barbaric videos of hamas and yet be so blind???
Yes, it's not in vacuum. But NOTHING can justify such violence against civilians!
This is not a path to freedom. It's a path to hell.
Personal Thoughts:
(not for everyone, feel free to skip)
For the longest time, I struggled with my identity.
A Palestinian kid born inside Israel. Likeโฆwtf.
Many of my friends refuse to this day to say the word โIsraelโ and call themselves โPalestinianโ only.
But since I was 12, that did not make sense to me.
So I decided to mix the two and become a โPalestinian-Israeliโ
I thought this term reflected who I was.
Palestinian first. Israeli second.
But after recent events, I started to think.
And think.
And think.
And then my thoughts turned to anger.
I realized that if Israel were to be โinvadedโ like that again, we would not be safe. To a terrorist invading Israel, all citizens are targets.
900 Israelis died so far. More than 40 of them are Arabs. Killed by other Arabs. And even 2 Thai people died too.
And I do not want to live under a Palestinian government.
Which means I only have one home, even if Iโm not Jewish:
Israel.
Thatโs where all my family lives. Thatโs where I grew up. Thatโs the country I want to see continue to exist so I can exist.
Palestine should exist too as an independent state. And I hope to see the country thrive and become less extreme and more prosperous. I love Palestine and have invested in Palestine.
But itโs not my home.
So from today forward,
I view myself as an โIsraeli-Palestinianโ.
Israeli first.
Palestinian second.
Sometimes it takes a shock like this to see so clearly.
Disgusted that some of the smartest people on earth can be brainwashed enough to explicitly support terrorism.
Open your eyes. Hamas rule cannot be allowed to exist. Just like Al Queda, just like ISIS. They are not freedom fighters. They are plain terrorists.

This illustrates the possibility of reinforcing classical generalization bounds with algorithm- and data-dependent components,
thus making them more suitable to analyze algorithms that use a large hypothesis space.

Our bounds naturally interpolate between classical uniform convergence bounds in the worst case (when the prior and posterior are far away from each other),
and improved bounds in favorable cases (when the posterior and prior are close).

We present a PAC-Bayes-style bound that enables the replacement of the KL-divergence with a variety of Integral Probability Metrics (IPM).
We provide instances of this bound with the IPM being the total variation metric and the Wasserstein distance.
