Most of the time, society optimizes itself by reaching for the low hanging fruit, step by step. The point I’m trying to make is that this low hanging fruit is hanging even lower, mostly because of the capacity that LLMs have brought. Sure, leak resistant pipes and equipment would be great, but that is not realistic in the short to medium term. Do you know how many millions of kilometres of pipelines you have, just in the states? Do you know how complicated and costly it’s gonna be to replace all of it? Sure, it’s going to be awesome when we do it. But there is real economic value in optimizing the system and infrastructure we have now until we have the means to replace it. Our company makes money. The oil and gas sector is willing to pay for our product because it’s awesome and it does its job.
