How many more families must be shattered like this? How long will innocent people continue to live in fear? The pain, the loss, the silence that follows such violence—this cannot become normal.

Where are the protections people are meant to rely on? It’s time for urgent, meaningful action before more lives are lost.

There is a drug trade route connecting Moreh, Tengnoupal, Chandel, and other areas to Churachandpur.
Drugs are transported through Kuki villages in these regions.

Currently, Sajik Tampak serves as the operational base of the UKLF chief, SS Haokip (also known as Soson Haokip), whose involvement in the drug trade is well known. This trade involves bringing drugs in from Myanmar.

If you cross the international border from Sajik Tampak, the area is controlled by the Thadou Defense Army and the Kuki National Army–Burma (KNA-B).
They have connections with the Chin Defense Force–Tonzang (CDF-T). The CDF is allied with the Chin National Army (CNA).

When the CNA, along with the Chin Defense Force–Hualngo (CDF-H), clashed with the Chin National Defense Force (CNDF), the KNA-B came to the aid of the CNA — and that’s how this Kuki youth lost his life.

There are many more Kuki cadres like him stuck in Myanmar.

All of this is connected to the drug trade and the struggle for territorial dominance.
The majority of drugs seized in Mizoram are trafficked by the Chin National Army.

Let us hope the Meitei public remains vigilant.
Someone needs to write a detailed exposé and publish it.
If the public is not made aware, politicians — including Meiteis — will continue to play their games.

I, an elected Member of Lok Sabha, was stopped from visiting Phougakchou-Ikhai Makha Leikai Keithel (Bazar) in Bishnupur District, which falls within my parliamentary constituency (Inner Manipur) today, despite the heavy presence of security forces, including the Indian Army, in the area guarding the place.

Tellingly, civilians belonging to other communities (such as Pangals) are allowed to travel through the same place right in front of me, a Member of Parliament of the largest democracy in the world!

It speaks of the clandestine ways through which the state has been nurturing a communally founded division of Manipur, and drawing up and enforcing an imaginary and unconstitutional line, the so-called "buffer zone", in support of communal forces in the state.

Honest and determined efforts will solve the issue, not lies and cynical approach. Let truth, justice and peace prevail!

*** But when a Kuki woman dies in crossfire, after militants initiate an attack on a Meitei farmer & forces retaliate, an apology is tendered under so-called Kuki customary law, complete with compensation...

Elderly farmer shot at while working in the fields in Manipur's Bishnupur. The farmer, from the Meitei community, was injured in his arm in the incident that happened in Phubala village. He has been hospitalised. "Five shots were fired," he said in the hospital.

🆘Manipulative deletion leading to Absence of names of Moreh Meetei/Meitei localities on the IDPs Management Portal !!!

🆘Worse , this has hindered online registration of displaced Meitei.

#Moreh, the border in #Tengnoupal district, has five Meetei localities--
1. Heinoumakhong Leikai,

2. Khunou Leikai,
3. Premnagar Mongyamba Leikai,
4. Turel Wangma Leikai and
5. Moreh Bazar Khongnangthaba Leikai.

However, on Google Maps, these original names of the localities have been found deleted, removed and replaced by Kuki names,

While the Commissioner (Home) has issued an order for online registration of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), the Government's IDPs Management Portal has no mention of the original names of the Meetei Leikais, causing confusion and hindering the registration process,

‼️Moreh Heinoumakhong Leikai and Turel Wangma Leikai had been renamed Chikim Village,

‼️Khunou Leikai as T Yangnom Village

It may be mentioned here that the State Assembly on March 4, 2024
had passed the Manipur Names of Places Bill 2024 to curb illegal changing of names of places.

The Act bans renaming of places without the approval consent of the competent Government authority,
making it punishable by upto 3 years in jail and a fine of Rs 3 lakh.

Who is responsible for changing the names of the Meitei Leikais to Kuki Names in the IDPs Management Portal?
Strict action should be given against the perpetrators.
