@crepes373 As for the womanizer bit, I wonder if it's a coincidence that the original hindu deity Nezha is supposedly adapted from is Nalakuvara, a Trickster who indulged in sex and wine. Stories mention a brother like him, punishing rapists, turning into trees, & the Garuda...

@crepes373 It's funny that the original Jinzhe deity was adjusted to fit the theme of the three brothers, just like Oda adjusted the colors of the Germa to fit the super sentai theme. Same old way of organizing the lore lol

@crepes373 Almost surely a coincidence, but you know. One takes inspiration from things they know, and could be stuff learned but forgotten, or stuff they're not thinking of atm, and still be influenced by it subconsciously. It's still fun to ponder ahahah

@crepes373 3/3 As an addition to all you said too, I think the backstory of Sanji was heavily inspired by Nezha (with changes), while his character and general attitude to Zhu Baijie/Pigsy (who's supposed to represent passions and excesses, loves women and food). Wdy think?

@crepes373 2/3 The father who hates him, Li Jing, is supposedly a earlier Daoist version of/similar to one of the 4 Heavenly Kings in Buddhism lore (Bishamonten in Japan). He's a general in heaven as Li Jing, and the Northern King of rain and WAR in the other version.
