When you get some time, I would recommend you look at the large PBMs.

PBMs:
• are very consolidated, with the largest three controlling
80% of the market, and the Big 6 controlling 94%
• Claim to save money on brand-name medications and
yet we pay the highest prices in the world for brand
name meds
• We pay 2.7 times the average of other comparable
other countries for branded meds
• We have the largest prescription drug market in the
world and should have the best pricing
• The units of the three largest PBMs have revenue of
$440 Billion a year
• The PBMs are supposed to represent the interest of
the insurance companies, but the three largest PBMs
are owned by insurance companies
• PBMs underpay independent pharmacies and lead
to them going out of business. This leaves many
rural areas without a vital medical asset.
