@madwixxy@BethCharleston I suspect he was ‘subtly’ referring to Bob Hawke as head of ACTU in 1973 (and PM in 1985 when Gough launched his memoirs, featured in this video)
@Peter_Fitz An inspirational leader and Doctor. There were about 100 other doctors on the railway. Roy Mills, Peter Hendry, Tom Brereton, Tom Hamilton and many others. All extraordinary. They all deserve to have their stories told. Check out Peter Winstanley’s work and his website.
@GongGasGirl@DrRobbieErskine@neumanmd@DrSandman11@LudwigLin RA was more important when using older diathermy rather than hotwire, and when using glycine solution for irrigation. ‘TURP syndrome’ was much more common, and spinals allowed monitoring of CNS toxicity.
@missyjack@sallyrugg The Lamb Ad hasnt mentioned the day for quite a few years. Great ads to go back through and remember what were the issues each year. 2017 my favourite.
@adambspencer@Peter_Fitz I think the ‘right’ response is to point out that the woke captain only took five out of ten wickets. Barely 50%….for both innings…
@GongGasGirl Used both. No great safety difference, and for some anxious patients (eg anxiety) definitely better in the AR, for others (logistical issues) better in the OR. Main reason to have the room is for talking, preparation, blocks etc. Much more efficient than no room at all!!
@maffygirl@lotusgav@RCoANews The EMR (and every system) should specify, (separate from legal names), what the patient expects to be called. In scottish cultural tradition, males often go by the second legal name. Famously, Australian Prime Ministers Edward Gough Whitlam and John Malcolm Fraser both did this
@NikoSarcevic@LiangRhea Yes, when I was younger and ‘on the way up’. Good advice. I think it is part of development as a speaker. Initially too rigid and nervous, then go through an overconfident/undisciplined phase, then become more disciplined and polished. When I slip back to phase two, disaster!
@VillellajJohn@AaronDodd@NevilleBart0s No. It was stopping conscription. In essence, the money spent on two years military service (by those who were picked in the draft) was roughly equivalent to additional spending on university education.
