Public service is truly a privilege, and the last eight years in the Senate of Maryland made that abundantly clear.
More to come, and I look forward to the work ahead in these final weeks as we enter special session next month, a fitting close to my time working in the MGA.
This isn’t going to age well. We know because our campaign had people close the polls and collect numbers before the State Board of Elections could report them. That’s what happens when you have 150+ volunteers on Election Day.
This campaign has been humbling. When I look at the coalition that has come together behind this race, it means everything to me.
Working people and union members. Fellow elected officials and law enforcement leaders. Environmental advocates and immigrant rights organizations. Educators and public employees. Faith leaders and neighbors from across the 46th District.
This is not about me. It is about what we have built together and what we still have left to do. I am grateful beyond words and I am not going to let any of you down.
Don't believe everything you see online, folks.
Proud to have earned the endorsement of AFSCME Local 44. The public employees they represent show up every day to serve Baltimore and I will always show up for them in Annapolis. Grateful for their support.
@JohnDediePolSci@SenBillFerg@makegoodchange_@SenBillFerg secured funding for @BARCS_SHELTER’s new facility, interceded with the City when they needed operating dollars, and is a major reason SB423 passed this Session (plus a perfect voting record on animal welfare policy). Nothing about this endorsement is a surprise.
Paxton's an adulterous sleazewagon who reeks of corruption & would help Democrats break the filibuster to their advantage. There's nothing virtuous about supporting him. I would never vote for him for an executive office, including the one he currently holds. But electing Talarico gets us one step closer to Court-packing & the whole Democratic package of efforts to shatter the American constitutional system of government permanently beyond repair. Throw in teaching Christians false things about their faith that will cost them their immortal souls, and I'll take Paxton over that any day.
“I don’t want politicians to be ‘authentic.’ I want them to be decent. I want them to be honest. I want them to be competent. And if they fail those tests, they don’t redeem themselves by opposing Donald Trump,” @DavidAFrench https://t.co/nh1m8SoJ61
Brooke Lierman and I have been neighbors, friends, and colleagues doing this work side by side for nearly a decade.
She was elected to serve the 46th District as a Delegate in 2014 — already one of the sharpest policy minds in the building — and spent eight years showing up for these neighborhoods and the people who live here.
When she ran for Comptroller, I endorsed her without hesitation. Today she’s the first woman independently elected to statewide constitutional office in Maryland history. And she still lives right here in the 46th.
Her endorsement means more to me than most because she knows this district, she knows this community, and she’s seen up close what we’ve built together for Baltimore over the years.
Early voting starts June 11. Election Day is June 23.
Literally nothing about this is shocking.
But let’s keep demagoguing Jews giving to political campaigns as manipulation by “AIPAC donors.” That will definitely lower the temperature and not feed the oldest anti-Semitic tropes prominently displayed in the Holocaust Museum.
@PotomacPeck That’s not accurate. The Senate Committee on Education, Energy, and the Environment voted HB50 in advance of receiving it from the House, but did not have sufficient time to physically get the bill to the Floor before midnight.
Maryland isn’t backing down, and we’re getting this right. The Community Trust Act that passed the Senate is a key part of my strategy to use every tool at the State’s disposal to protect our neighbors from ICE’s lawlessness and enhance public safety.
We’re pushing back on ICE overreach, standing up for our communities, and making it clear: we will always choose people over fear and division.
The State funding we secured is a testament to the kids, coaches, and community that clearly articulated what the rink means to them and its centrality to our City. It’s a great day to be a @BMoreBanners.
Temple Israel in Michigan was founded before WW2, the name predates the state of Israel by almost a decade.
