Our impression from the conversations we've had with @SenDonBacon here on X is that if @AIPAC paid him anything, it was a waste of money.

He has made it clear where his allegiance lies by condemning us as "a joke" when we tell him of the war crimes committed by the @IDF and that if his predecessors in Congress had investigated the attack in 1967 the attack wouldn't be a topic of conversation some 59 years later.

And that he and his colleagues in Congress are the reason the attack is still being discussed today.

If you are directing your comment at us, I'm afraid you are misdirecting it.

If investigators had examined the attack soon after it occurred, the blood of our fallen shipmates wouldn't still be present today—nearly 59 years later—for groups whose agenda is not to uncover the truth about the attack.

It is because of the actions of members of Congress during and since the attack, in allowing the attack to be conducted with impunity, that has resulted in the blood of our fallen shipmates being used in such an outrageous and demeaning manner.

You and your colleagues in Congress during and since the attack have created the situation that exists vis-à-vis the cover-up of the attack on our ship.

And now you complain that the attack on our ship is still in the American lexicon.

Were it not for you and your colleagues, it would have disappeared almost 59 years ago.

If Congress persists in its current path, it's unpredictable how long those with opposing agendas will exploit the blood of our fallen shipmates.

59 years ago, approximately at the posting of this comment and accounting for time zone differences, the #USSLibertyc's radios were jammed on both @USNavy tactical and international maritime distress frequencies as the ship came under attack by unmarked @IDF Mirages and Mysteres.

Sixteen hours later, after Sixth Fleet aircraft were recalled while we were still under attack and calling for help and after the life rafts we dropped over the side in anticipation of abandoning ship were deliberately machine gunned in the water, the #USSMassey and #USSDavis appeared out of the morning mist.

The Sixth Fleet finally arrived with the assistance they had promised us in 15 minutes, but they came 15 hours and 45 minutes late.

Not to be outdone, the US government has been waiting 14,245 days and counting to investigate the attack.

Its no different in the Catholic Church. The place is full of sinners...but the doctrine is solid with an intellectual arsenal able to answer any challenge posed to it...and with a roster of "Founding Fathers" who gave blood defending it.
