Today, as every day, we remember Diogo Jota and André Silva, who tragically passed away one year ago.
Through immeasurable loss and incalculable pain, the impact they made and the legacies they left behind - not only within the footballing world, but in the hearts and minds of so many around the world - has shone through over the last 12 months.
All of our love, support, thoughts and prayers continue to be with Diogo and André's families, friends and all those whose lives were touched by them.
Forever in our hearts, forever our number 20 ❤️
On the 29th July 2025, myself and @Stephen63224725 lost our eldest child Harvey. In the weeks and months that followed we had to put our grief on hold in an attempt to secure a statutory inquiry in to Children’s Health Ireland Spina Bifida and Scoliosis care. We did this because Harvey was failed, and many other children have been and continue to be failed by our health service. We did this to try and see positive change but also to see answers and accountability for the many other children. We held our grief as we marched in protest, as we met with government ministers, as we spoke in the AV room at Leinster House, when we spoke on radio, tv, and newspapers.
@CarrollJennifer and @SimonHarrisTD made agreements in those meetings that they appear to now be refusing to honour.
@CarrollJennifer on more than one occasion stated during those meetings that she ‘wants to still be Minister for Health’ when this inquiry is finished. That’s where her concern lay and appears to continue to lie.
Our concern, as well as @SBH_PAG and @scolionetwork is, and always will be, the children and families at the centre of this. Nothing more, nothing less.
A narrow scope, behind closed doors, without engagement from the families using CHI is a waste of time and tax payer money.

"Kids who need time-sensitive spinal surgery are waiting more than 6 months longer because their little bodies are less profitable to operate on."
The shocking unpublished report confirms public child patients are forced to wait longer for surgery & private patients prioritised.
One of my favourite interviews I did was Anto Wilkes, a Dubliner who went to Mexico '86 with his dad (John, Cherry Orchard legend) for his 50th birthday and never left. They saw 19 World Cup games incl. the final. Anto married a local and became a school principal in Querétaro 🇲🇽
So, Children’s Health Ireland, the organisation in charge of the sickest and most vulnerable children in Ireland has:
•delayed urological care so much that children are at increased risk of some cancers and infertility-and then not felt it necessary to even alert the families of these children.
•a surgeon on leave after implanting non medical grade metal springs in to children’s spines.
•potential misappropriation of €19million that was supposed to be spent to improve care of children with Spina Bifida and Scoliosis.
•allowed children wait on surgery so long they become inoperable.
•allowed children age out of their care without ever getting the surgery they need.
•children have died due to not receiving surgeries when needed.
•taken and hidden €30,000 from Aramark. The same company that charges extortionate prices in their hospital shop.
•surgeons allegedly performing hundreds of unnecessary hip surgeries on children.
•attempted to fire staff for alerting serious welfare concerns.
•a toxic work environment for staff.
•surgeon/s misusing the NTPF for their own profit.
•refused to publish a large number of reports that may outline other serious issues.
•removed children from surgical lists without informing the parents.
•threatened litigation when parents push back.
•threatened to, and got Tusla involved when parents pushed back.

Anything short of a *Public Tribunal of Inquiry* in to this absolutely negligent organisation would be an insult to all the children and families who have been physically and mentally harmed by this organisation.

SHE REFUSED TO DELIST SICK CHILDREN
Harvey Morrison Sherratt was nine years old. He had scoliosis so severe his spine curved to 130 degrees. He had been waiting over three years for surgery at Children's Health Ireland (@CHI_Ireland).
Then, without a word to his parents Gillian @GillSherratt23 and Stephen @Stephen63224725, someone at CHI quietly removed him from the waiting list.
The reason? They had wrongly decided he was a palliative patient. Terminally ill. No future. Not worth the slot. The only problem is that was completely false.
Harvey was never linked to a palliative care team. Nowhere in his medical records was he referred to as palliative. Nobody ever even uttered the word to his parents.
Harvey finally got the surgery in late 2024, by which point his curvature was at 130 degrees and could not be fully corrected. He died on 29 July 2025.
Anita Little was the business manager responsible for administering the spinal surgery waiting list at CHI. She claims she was dismissed for serious misconduct following instructions to suspend the names of ten patients. She refused. She blew the whistle.
The protected disclosure also claimed that "threats to silence" a staff member were made after concerns were raised internally within CHI about Harvey's case. CHI's response was to fire her. A High Court injunction stopped them replacing her. Now, after mediation and a settlement, she is breaking her silence.
Harvey's parents got only spin, only lies and only deception about why he was removed from a scoliosis surgery waiting list when an independent expert had deemed him suitable. They found out in a Sunday newspaper why Harvey was removed from the list.
A child died. A whistleblower was sacked for caring. And the institution responsible is being dissolved into the HSE by 2027 as if that solves anything.
Minister for Health Jennifer Carroll MacNeill @CarrollJennifer and Tanaiste Simon Harris @SimonHarrisTD have agreed to recommend a statutory public inquiry.
Fifteen months since Gillian first found out her son was quietly erased from a list. No answers yet on who made that call, when, or why.
This is not a system failure. This is what a system designed to protect itself from accountability looks like when it gets caught.
Follow this case. Share it. Harvey deserved better. So do all the other children still waiting.

Today I watched the Israeli army bomb Khiam, Lebanon, with white phosphorus. This is a banned substance, therefore a war crimes. Americans, your tax dollars are paying for chemical warfare.
Seeing @MichealMartinTD make light of Winston Churchill's terrible role in Irish history should not come as a surprise.
He has betrayed our colonial history by dumping the Occupied Territories Bill and staging a hasbara 'photo op' for Israel just minutes from the #GazaGenocide

We do not want to be rich like Americans. Look how greedy they are, even trying to invade their friends.

The Gaza board of peace...has no Palestinian member.
Not one.
But has:
- A war criminal
- 3 property developers
- A former CEO of Mastercard
- 2 billionaires
And our politicians tell us this is a good idea and a ceasefire still exists.
Humanity is lost.
