"highly aggressive extortion letters give organizations a 3day deadline to respond & initiate ransom negotiations. If the victim organization is unresponsive, the threat actors declare they will call & email target employees and external clients directly"

A recent review proposes integrating POTS, ME/CFS, and Long COVID into the neuroimmunology subspecialty. Here is their compelling case.
\ Overlapping Drivers of Disease:
The authors outline several major overlapping pathophysiological mechanisms shared by POTS, ME/CFS, and Long COVID. This includes:
1. Autonomic Dysfunction (Dysautonomia)
2. Mitochondrial Dysfunction
3. Cerebral Hypoperfusion
4. Immune Dysregulation
5. Neuroinflammation
6. Autoimmunity
\ The Harm of Psychiatric Misdiagnoses:
For decades, patients have been wrongly labeled with "functional neurological disorder," anxiety, or somatization because routine tests often look normal.
\ A Call for Better Diagnostics:
Researchers and clinicians urgently need advanced tools such as:
- 7T MRIs
- Targeted PET scans
- Autoantibody and cytokine panels
- Comprehensive autonomic function testing
Routine tests are simply not enough.
\ The Authors’ Core Proposal:
Classify and treat POTS, ME/CFS, and Long COVID as neuroimmune disorders under the subspecialty of neuroimmunology.
This shift would:
• Improve clinical care
• Accelerate research
• Enable effective neurotherapeutics (including repurposed immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory treatments)
Thanks, Dysautonomia Clinic, for the awesome paper!

"Testing Co-Scientist, Bryant fed it a summary of one of her grant proposals studying flu in birds and humans ... The tool generated and ranked a set of promising hypotheses — The unfamiliar ones were the most thought-provoking."

"Faced with that combinatorial explosion, Menolascina used Co‑Scientist to narrow the search ... Co‑Scientist synthesised evidence across liver biology and pharmacology, highlighted mechanisms worth focusing on, and flagged candidate combination therapies"

"Science is a team sport. Co-Scientist can’t do science by itself, and I can’t do it all by myself either. It helps me structure my thoughts, so I know what to ask of other experts and collaborators."

"Using Co-Scientist feels like having a team of 50 people at your disposal, doing all the work within a day, which isn’t something we can otherwise do with our lab."

Such good work by @VirusesImmunity and team:
"When they exposed the IgG antibodies from the long-COVID patients to nervous system tissues, they found that it attacked parts of the brain, thalamus, meninges, endocrine tissues, nervous system proteins ..."

"Co-Scientist can explore thousands of research directions .. we developed the ‘tournament of ideas’. The approach draws from principles used in AlphaGo but instead of playing a game, our AI agents hold scientific debates to generate, refine & rank ideas"

Another language that I don't speak but grateful for reporters and writers who can help describe the transition we are going through - from engineering to biologically inspired cyberdefense, a digital immune system

The current AI threat problem is mostly attacks using AI rather than on AI because the systems aren’t ubiquitous yet and adversaries are busy incorporating AI into their existing business models. Mostly we’ve been learning from stunt hacking by researchers. But that will change.
