🚨 2024 was a year of broken records.
🌡️ +1.62°C average temperature.
🔥 Highest temperature recorded, 2 days in a row.
🌊 Extreme rainfall, extreme droughts.
💔Many lives lost, many houses lost.
🌳 We don’t mean to sound like a broken record, but we need climate action now.
Tá muidne san Óige Ghlas ag tacú go mór le bunú ‘Na Gaeil Glasa’, grúpa sainleasmhar laistigh den Chomhaontas Glas. Creideann muid go láidir gur chomhair an Ghaeilge a chur chun cinn sa pháirtí agus sa phobal uilig. [1/4]
Delighted to announce the successful applicants of the recent Short Supply Chain Funding call from @agriculture_ie. Much oversubscribed, but this first time call shows the real and genuine interest from groups across the country. Something to build on. https://t.co/q83DcR6M11
The science is clear on why LA is burning. Yet zero mention of the climate crisis at the cause on @morningireland today.
Living in the close our eyes and hope this all magically goes away era 😠👎

The big public transport projects, like Metrolink and DartWest that are sitting shovel-ready, need funding from the next government to go forward, this is no time to retreat from our climate commitments. @rodericogorman#rtept
However the main difference being instead of the Red Cross controlling the money supply, parents of children did. And when they buy a new bag of marbles for their kid, supply increased. Eventually everyone had more and more marbles, making generic marbles valueless.
Just finished the last chapter of #Money by @davidmcw. Reminded me of when I was in primary school, marbles were the vehicle of money. When a classmate brought in a new set of marbles, the cost of rare ones jumped and common marbles were devalued. Akin to cigarettes in prisons!
I’m running for the TCD Seanad Election!
I graduated from Trinity with a degree in Computer Science in 1993. My experience at #TCD has shaped who I am and encouraged me to dedicate a lot of my life to solving environmental problems - that’s why I got elected as a councillor, a TD and Minister of State.
The Government is at risk of depending on climate sceptics to hold power - so it’s more important than ever to have a voice for climate, for innovation and for inclusion in #SeanadÉireann. You’ll soon receive your ballot in the post - I hope I have your support.
Thanks, Ossian! #trinitycollegedublin #tcdalumni
The next phase of the #TransportPlan is due to start between April & June, which will stop private vehicles on Westland row turning on to Pearse St
This will reduce traffic on Pearse St. and allow more space to be dedicated for buses and cyclists

🌻 Meet @ciarancuffe, half of our leadership duo.
💚 After serving Ireland on all levels of governments (local, national & European!), he was elected co-chair of the European Greens.
👏 We welcome him and we are looking forward to starting a brand-new year with him.
A bunch of car park owners have been granted a High Court review to try and get rid of the Dublin City Transport Plan.
So far the plan has delivered faster buses and reduced traffic - while footfall keeps growing.
Backwards stuff that must be resisted.

These new displays have a read out function for visually-impaired users. The new vehicle location system being developed at the moment should improve the accuracy of the information too.
