@Mikey5Aces@KodyDuncanPGH Mikey if there’s one thing I’ve learned about you, it’s that you’re consistent. Not back and forth. Always just negative. It’s almost comforting. Not even hating
@teoriapraxis@JustinBenson13@npc210 You didn’t want the game to last longer. The only shot the pirates had realistically was if Flores OR Davis didn’t bat again. DK tried to win it before extras. Didn’t pay off. Davis wasn’t put in to bat again. He was put in to defend and hope the batters in front got it done.
@JustinBenson13@teoriapraxis@npc210 Okay and Flores is an mlb worst in both categories. You want the better defensive catcher in late in the game. Plain and simple
@teoriapraxis@JustinBenson13@npc210 So why is all the blame being put on Kelly and Davis. By that logic Nick Gonzalez should be the most to blame because if he just does his job it doesn’t matter what Davis or Kelly did
A DEFENSIVE CATCHER IS SO IMPORTANT LATE IN A GAME. THAT IS WHY THE PINCH RUNNING HAPPENED. HENRY DAVIS WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO BAT. THEY WERE TRYING TO AVOID EXTRA INNINGS.
@teoriapraxis@JustinBenson13@npc210 Typical non ball knower. A single or walk might happen. If that single or walk happens and Flores is catching. Offs that runner makes it to 2nd is significantly higher. Runner on 2nd = way worse than runner on 1st. Runner on first not a big deal. On 2nd a hit scores them
@teoriapraxis@JustinBenson13@npc210 No. The pitcher does not throw batters out at second, call the abs challenges, prevent passed balls, or dictate the pitches thrown
@JustinBenson13@npc210 Not as big of a problem as a catcher who can’t throw a guy out. Every single/walk puts a man in scoring position. (Tbf though Flores did better last night so let’s hope he keeps it up)
@THEChrisMack He wasn’t supposed to get any tbh er at bat. Davis glove means more than Flores bat late in the game like that. It makes sense. Just didn’t work
The amount of pirates fans mad about Henry Davis pinch running is crazy. You aren’t beating the dodgers in extras. You play for the run and you put one of the best defensive catchers in the mlb in to hold down the plate for 2 crucial innings. Hindsight is 20/20
