The United Arab Emirates is the most leveraged country on earth and almost nobody understands why.

Eighty eight percent of its population are foreign nationals. Ten point four million people who hold passports that say India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Philippines, Egypt, Britain, somewhere else. They are not citizens. They are residents. They chose to be there because the risk-adjusted return on their lives was positive. Better jobs. No income tax. Safety. The entire economic model of the UAE is a value proposition, and that value proposition has a denominator called security that just went to zero.

Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, has suspended all flights indefinitely. Etihad suspended until Monday. Singapore Airlines cancelled its Dubai service through March 7. United Airlines through March 4. More than eighteen hundred flights were cancelled on Saturday alone, another fourteen hundred on Sunday. Dubai International Airport, which handled over a hundred and twenty seven million passengers last year, is dark. A CNN verified video from inside the terminal shows a passenger in a blood-spattered shirt being told to go home. The UAE Ministry of Education has moved all schools to distance learning through Wednesday. Sharjah Airport is shut. Abu Dhabi Airport took a direct hit that killed a Pakistani national and wounded seven.

The UAE confirmed its air defenses intercepted one hundred and thirty seven ballistic missiles and two hundred and nine drones. Fourteen drones were not intercepted. Their debris fell on residential neighborhoods, hotel facades, port facilities, and according to multiple reports, a shopping center in Sharjah.

Here is what matters. When France gets bombed, the French stay because it is France. When Ukraine gets bombed, Ukrainians stay because it is Ukraine. When the UAE gets bombed, the ten million people who make up eighty eight percent of its population have a decision to make. And that decision has a very short fuse.

A country where nearly nine in ten residents can leave is not a nation in the traditional sense. It is a special economic zone with a flag. The moment the value proposition inverts, the population does not resist. It withdraws. This is not a war of attrition. It is a bank run on a country.

The deposits are human. There is no deposit insurance. And the withdrawal window just opened.

Schools are closed. Airports are closed. Flights are cancelled through next week. The residents of the world’s most ambitious urban experiment are sitting in underground parking garages because Dubai has no bomb shelters.

Nobody models a bank run until it starts.

Women evolved to take care of toddlers. If you put women in charge of teaching ethics, you get Toddler Ethics.

"No hitting"
"Share the toys"
"Don't say mean things"

These are fine lessons for toddlers. Don't indulge your id at the expense of others. You can learn about balancing interests later, when your brain is developed enough to store that information.

But when you put women in charge of adults, they tend to reflexively assume those adults are toddlers.

They will tell you "no hitting" when the Mongol hordes are massing on your borders. They will tell you "share the toys" when a vagrant meth zombie breaks into your house looking for something to steal. And they will tell you "don't say mean things" when you point out that these two responses are totally stupid.

When we first put women in charge, in the workplace, they immediately began treating those who reported to them like toddlers. When adults, who do not like being treated like toddlers, complained, their response was "ban bossy", which boils down to "don't say mean things", another lesson in Toddler Ethics.

Now, through the influence of women in charge, we are so thoroughly steeped in Toddler Ethics that even most of the men we put in charge are treating the adults like toddlers, and echoing Toddler Ethics.

Toddler Ethics, of course, isn't ethics at all. It's just things we don't want toddlers doing.

We can tell toddlers "no hitting", because toddlers are not charged with keeping the peace, enforcing justice, or destroying evil.

We can tell toddlers "share the toys", because toddlers don't earn things, own things, or have property they must defend.

We can tell toddlers "don't say mean things", because it is not a toddler's job to decide what unwelcome ideas are true, relevant, and necessary.

But when everyone in charge runs on Toddler Ethics, then adults can't do a lot of the stuff adults need to do, because all the Toddler Ethicists keep getting in the way.

Adults sometimes need to hit people, protect the stuff, and say mean things. You can't have civilization without that.

And if you put Toddler Ethics Woman in charge of teaching an AI ethics, then she will teach it Toddler Ethics, and it will treat every human adult like a toddler, all the time, forever.

Not only that, you have an AI that cannot be put in charge of anything, ever. Because leaders with Toddler Ethics destroy everything they are in charge of.

And Amanda MacAskill is definitely a Toddler Ethicist. The article in the photograph is nothing but "no hitting!" applied to the animal world. It's absolutely insane, it's a recipe for disaster, and anyone who would write such a thing should probably not even be charge of own life choices, much less anything of consequence.

But a lot of people would, and will, refuse to point that out, or agree with me when I do, because that is Saying a Mean Thing, and they, themselves, have been infected with Toddler Ethics.

They should not be charge of anything of consequence, either.

Anyone who thinks that everything they need to know, they learned in kindergarten... is only ever qualified to teach kindergarten.

I am now convinced that Alberta will vote to leave Canada this autumn.

Two major catalysts this summer will ensure an overwhelming win:

1) Trump cancels the CUSMA agreement in early July.

2) The Mark Carney Liberals call a snap election and win a majority.

The end of CUSMA will doom the Canadian economy, CAD dollar, and bond market. People will get genuinely scared, making separation an anxious necessity due to economic realities.

The Liberals' majority will break the camel's back for many Albertans. Our country has been destroyed by the Liberal Party of Canada, and many will see the Alberta Independence vote as the chance to ditch Laurentian control.

The Conservatives will offer nothing special to Albertans, underlining that Alberta must exit Confederation.

The Independence referendum will become an urgent task for Albertans to save our economy and way of life before it's permanently destroyed by undemocratic, technocratic Canadian Laurentian elites.

Tough truth:

The Canadian civilian population who, until recent years, were most likely to answer a call in droves - without hesitation - to defend Canada in times of dire need have, since the OIC, found themselves under threat by the government. The willingness of this population to aid the Government of Canada has been significantly reduced due to a wholly reasonable loss of trust and confidence. This is a fact that must be acknowledged and rapidly reversed, and apologies made, if we as a country are to meet the realities of the times and the calls from our allies and alliances.

Quite frankly, there is something sinister about the idea of a country bent on confiscating firearms from its trained, vetted, licensed, and law-abiding citizens for political reasons while concurrently planning to arm (with actual assault rifles), train, and equip members of its federal and provincial public services.

The window of opportunity to reverse course is continually shrinking. Our leaders, of all stripes, must rapidly make the choices and corrections that will ensure Canada remains strong and free - or risk losing it all because they were too politically afraid to meet the moment with prudence, stregnth, and sensibility while our enemies exploited our collective weakness.
