Lesser Kestrel video by Peter Walsh
32 second video of the adult male Lesser Kestrel at Croft Pascoe, Lizard, in early May. This was just the second record for Cornwall. The first was way back in 1968.
What a stunning find by John Foster. Cornwall’s 2nd Lesser Kestrel found at Croft Pascoe Downs, Lizard (1st May 2026).
The first was way back in May 1968 so this adult male has been long overdue.

Montage pics of some raptors seen this Spring in Cornwall. The Red-foot’s appear to have moved on now. They certainly provided some great entertainment and stunning views. Fave has to be the sec cal female at Predannack.
(Goshawk was in Somerset).
Good luck in your “retirement “ Ben. Here’s a flashback to the week you were signed for Truro City. I remember sitting at the bar doing the interview. Maybe see you at @Mouseholeafc one day.
@reuben_veal1 Excellent analysis Reuben. A four year gap since the last bird puts me firmly in the “new bird” camp. Pretty sure BB would also treat as the same. A great find.
The 1w Booted Eagle performed well in front of a few us this morning from the A394 roadbridge (over the railway line) at Marazion this morning. Even perching in front of us.
It’s Cornwall’s third record and the same as the bird seen back in Oct 10th and 11th at St Just.
Great pic Bob. Today’s Booted Eagle sighting at Marazion is considered the same bird as found by M Scott-Ham in Oct 24 at St Just and following day at Kenidjack.
Today’s bird on left and St Just bird on right. Four months apart but little difference in detail. Comments welcome.
