Today, in the presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at the Chief Minister’s official residence, Varsha, between the Maharashtra Maritime Board and Norway-based maritime technology company Hyke AS for the Mumbai Water Metro Project.

A Detailed Project Report (DPR) for implementing the Water Metro Project for passenger water transport in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) has been prepared through Kochi Metro Rail Ltd.. The DPR proposes the upgradation of 24 terminals across the existing 21 waterways currently being used for passenger transport, along with the construction of 21 terminals on 10 new waterways proposed to be introduced.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed confidence that the Mumbai Water Metro Project would usher in a new era of modern water transport in the country. He stated that the state government is committed to developing a sustainable and environmentally friendly water transport system to meet the growing transportation needs of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

🤝CM Devendra Fadnavis presided over the signing and exchange of the MoU between the Government of Maharashtra (Maharashtra Maritime Board) and HYKE AS, Norway.

Key Highlights of MoU:

✅ Support for the upcoming Mumbai Water Metro Project and expansion of opportunities in Maharashtra’s water transport sector.

✅ Exploration of shipbuilding and vessel manufacturing capabilities in the State.

This MoU will boost sustainable and environment-friendly water transport in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region while accelerating the development of maritime infrastructure in Maharashtra.

सामंजस्य कराराची वैशिष्ट्ये :

✅मुंबई वॉटर मेट्रो प्रकल्पासह महाराष्ट्रातील जलवाहतूक क्षेत्रातील विविध संधींना चालना देणे.

✅राज्यात जहाजबांधणी आणि जलयान निर्मिती क्षमता विकसित करणे.

या सामंजस्य करारामुळे मुंबई महानगर प्रदेशातील जलवाहतूक अधिक गतिमान, शाश्वत आणि पर्यावरणपूरक होण्यास मदत होणार असून राज्यातील सागरी पायाभूत सुविधांच्या विकासालाही चालना मिळणार आहे.

बंदरे विभाग, महाराष्ट्र शासन आणि अबू धाबी पोर्ट्स ग्रुप तसेच अबू धाबी इन्व्हेस्टमेंट रिसोर्स अँड प्रेसिडेन्शियल ऑफिस यांच्यात एक ऐतिहासिक सामंजस्य करार (MoU) करण्यात आला आहे. या करारानुसार जहाजबांधणी, जहाज विघटन (ship-breaking), जलवाहतूक, बंदर पायाभूत सुविधा आणि जल क्रीडा व्यवस्थापन अशा विविध क्षेत्रांमध्ये तब्बल 17,600 कोटी रुपयांची गुंतवणुक करण्यात आली आहे.

यातीलच एक महत्त्वाचा प्रकल्प म्हणजे "पोर्ट अलाईड सर्विसेस" च्या अंतर्गत भारत सरकार व यू ए ई शासन यांच्यात झालेला सिपा आणि फुड सेक्युरिटी करार!

या अनुषंगाने बंदरे विभाग आणि केंद्र शासनाच्या फूड सिक्युरिटी आणि सिपा कराराच्या अंतर्गत पोर्ट अलाईट सर्विसेस म्हणून हा प्रकल्प कसा राबवता येईल, याअनुषंगाने आज माझ्या शासकीय निवासस्थानी बैठक पार पडली.

या बैठकीस रुलर एनहान्सर्स ग्रुपचे व्यवस्थापकीय संचालक श्री.अंबर आयदे, न्यूट्री फ्रेश इंडिया प्रायव्हेट लिमिटेड चे संचालक श्री.संकेत मेहता, इक्विलाइन रिसोर्स इन्व्हेस्टमेंट ग्रुपचे डॉ.संग्राम कपाले, न्यूट्री फ्रेश इंडिया प्रायव्हेट लिमिटेडचे व्यवस्थापकीय संचालक श्री गणेश निकम यांसह संबंधित विभागाचे अधिकारी उपस्थित होते.

भारतीय इतिहासात पहिल्यांदाच, बंदर विभाग , महाराष्ट्र शासन आणि अबू धाबी पोर्ट्स ग्रुप तसेच अबू धाबी इन्व्हेस्टमेंट रिसोर्स अँड प्रेसिडेन्शियल ऑफिस यांच्यात एक ऐतिहासिक सामंजस्य करार (MoU) करण्यात आला आहे. या करारामुळे सागरी क्षेत्रात आंतरराष्ट्रीय सहकाराचे नवे पर्व सुरू झाले असून, यामध्ये बंदर मंत्रालयाने महत्त्वाची भूमिका बजावली आहे.

या करारानुसार जहाजबांधणी, जहाज विघटन (ship-breaking), जलवाहतूक, बंदर पायाभूत सुविधा आणि जल क्रीडा व्यवस्थापन अशा विविध क्षेत्रांमध्ये तब्बल २ अब्ज अमेरिकन डॉलर्सपर्यंत ( रुपये 17600 कोटी ) गुंतवणुकीची तरतूद करण्यात आली आहे. यामुळे महाराष्ट्र भारतातील एक अग्रगण्य सागरी केंद्र म्हणून अधिक बळकट होणार आहे.

अबू धाबी पोर्ट्सने भारतातील कोणत्याही राज्य शासनासोबत केलेला हा पहिलाच करार असून, यामुळे जागतिक स्तरावर महाराष्ट्राचे महत्त्व अधोरेखित होते. या भागीदारीचा उद्देश तांत्रिक सहकार्य, बंदरांचे आधुनिकीकरण, लॉजिस्टिक विकास आणि सागरी रोजगारनिर्मिती यांना चालना देणे हा आहे. हा करार महाराष्ट्राच्या “ब्लू इकॉनॉमी-आधारित विकास 2030” या दीर्घकालीन दृष्टीकोनाशी सुसंगत आहे.
