@thenightskyguy I don’t mean that to be disagreeable. Expectation management is important. Everyone I’ve helped see the fuzzy faint comet has very happy.
@thenightskyguy 40 years ago when trying astrophotography for the first time with Tri X film and a Pentax K1000, I’d would have been over-the-moon for a picture like this. Seeing Haley was dimmer, yet a life achievement at that point. Light pollution is the problem. #context.
Fire (Hydrant) and Ice. #Comet T-ATLAS from Aldie, VA shortly after sunset 13 Oct 2024. Fire hydrant played a practical role blocking a street light, but the airliner photobombs at center. Shot on iPhone. @capitalweather
@MarsRoverMapper I had the same excitement. All worried about finding a clear northern horizon and I turn around to see the southern milky way cutting through aurora. Wow.
Despite the soft focus and power lines, this one is a keeper for me because I want to remember LOOKING SOUTH at this incredible aurora from Upperville Battlefield in Northern VA. @capitalweather@MatthewCappucci
I’m offering pro bono visualization services to nonprofits, emergency services, or relief organizations that need help communicating critical info during #HurricaneHelene.
Clear, accurate information is crucial for communities, especially in times of crisis.
If you’re interested, please DM me or reach out here: [email protected] —I’ll be selecting projects on a first come, first served basis.
@RMaxSmith@Team_Luftwaffe@MetreaAero@INDOPACOM Tough flight to go all that way without the stop in Wake Island. Tough on the seat cushion, the bladder, and you run out of jokes and trivia questions!
