As a #productmanager I feel the need to challenge the assumption on why the original campaign failed. It COULD be that fractions are counter intuitive but:
- Was it more expensive?
- Was the quality better?
- Does a larger portion = more sales?

In the 80’s, A&W launched a 1/3 lb burger to compete with the McDonalds quarter-pounder. But it flopped because people are bad at fractions and thought 1/4 was bigger than 1/3. (Cause 4 > 3, of course)
They’ve now resurrected it as the ‘3/9 burger’.
