@SwimNerds Totally depends…there’s rarely a right or wrong with any set in itself, surely it’s more about appropriateness to the level of the athlete. “Read the room…” 👊
3 Things I wish I’d known much earlier:
1. Your choice of attitude determines your happiness and success
2. Your relationship with failure determines how quickly you will progress in life
3. Your relationships & inter-personal skills will get you further than your job skills
@BrianMac60@SportPsychTips 100% agree Brian. We are no good to anybody burnt-out, un-creative, de-motivated or at very worst...dead!! The key is to be as competent at looking after ourselves, as we are at looking after our athletes. That said, it's a constant battle...as my waist-line shows!
A great coaching position as the Assistant Coach within our @SwimmingCanada High Performance Centre Vancouver closing date 17 Nov 2021 @CAN_SwimCoaches https://t.co/epdTCYPkoV
Rest & recovery is necessary but only of benefit if you first do the work. I am fearful that today we have a generation of over-recovered and undertrained athletes so overly mindful of training load that they are not doing enough to stimulate adaptation and prevent injury.
Co Wakefield Swimming Club are looking for a Head Coach. Great little club with lots of potential and very competitive salary. DM me if you want anymore details
