I’ve spent 18 years building and scaling products on the @AppStore (and helping others do the same), but today I’m launching something deeply personal.
Six years ago, I started a paper journal with my young kids.
Here’s how (and why) that paper journal became @GritMethodApp 🧵
@drbarnard@stratechery@GreenlightCard This was a devious scheme! If I wasn’t also “getting paid to listen to @stratechery” I would have long ago requested higher pay for the actual yard work. You found a way to finally get me to listen to stratechery without paying me much more than you otherwise would.
@drbarnard why local matters here: lets say you had a great idea on a hike or in the car. You could pull out phone, and without worry of latency / connection issues, talk to a model about your new idea. then that model waits for a stable internet connection and sends your idea to the cloud.
@drbarnard I think the local model should not "manage" the agents. it would simply relay tasks / ideas to a bigger "cloud orchestrator" who does the actual agent management. it should just be an interface between your messy ideas and the agents that execute them.
@drbarnard apple could have the best local hardware and thus the headroom to make the best chat experience, model personality, voice quality, STT quality etc.
@drbarnard I think there might be a shred of truth in this mound of bullshit but I can't really fault you for not digging for it. people who post like this need to be banned / sent back to linkedin.
