BREAKING: 🇵🇱 Poland says a Russian Mi-8 military helicopter briefly violated Polish airspace north of Braniewo at 11:08 local time.

The helicopter flew in from Russia’s Kaliningrad region, penetrating approximately 300 metres into Polish airspace for 42 seconds. Polish radar systems detected the aircraft, fighter jets were scrambled, and ground-based forces remained on standby.

Polish authorities say the incident appears to indicate another test of Poland’s air-defence readiness by Russia.

According to Newsweek Poland, the CIA warned Poland about a possible threat to the banking system involving undersea cables.

The report says U.S. officials warned that Russia has very thoroughly mapped undersea cables used by international banking, including connections between Europe and America, cables in the Baltic Sea linking Scandinavia with Poland and the wider region, and routes between the UK and Europe.

The reported concern is a scenario in which key cables carrying financial data could be damaged. According to Newsweek, the Americans warned Poland that its banking system must be prepared for such a critical test, as serious disruption could affect interbank communication.

BREAKING: Ukrainian sources report that Russian forces have been targeting gas stations in the capital since early this morning. The attack is ongoing.

NEW: Poland has urgently postponed Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz’s planned Wednesday visit to the Pentagon following an urgent request from the U.S. side.

Warsaw says new signals from Washington, together with a meeting of NATO chiefs of staff, require urgent action on the security of Alliance members.

Two Polish deputy ministers are instead travelling to Washington for talks with U.S. counterparts and to prepare further agreements on defence cooperation.

BREAKING: 🇲🇩Moldova is preparing to introduce a state of emergency in the energy and water sectors as authorities warn of a critical situation ahead of winter.

Additional measures have also been ordered to protect Moldova’s critical energy infrastructure against potential hostile actions, including drone attacks. Authorities are preparing for the rapid restoration of energy facilities in the event of an incident, while critical cybersecurity vulnerabilities will be addressed as a priority.

President Maia Sandu announced the measures after a meeting of Moldova’s National Security Council, saying the government must be able to respond rapidly to unpredictable disruptions affecting energy and water supplies.

Sandu also said Moldova must enter the cold season with sufficient electricity-import capacity and alternative supply routes. Authorities are preparing to use, if necessary, the 110 kV interconnections with Romania and increase commercial capacity at the Moldovan-Romanian border.

The government is also building gas reserves and gradually preparing emergency stocks of petroleum products.

Sandu explained that Moldova no longer purchases gas from Russia after Moscow gradually reduced supplies in 2022 and later stopped deliveries to Transnistria. She warned that the regional security situation could create additional risks for Moldova’s energy system.

She also said the government will continue compensation payments for households throughout the winter, taking into account both energy prices and the vulnerability of each family.

Sandu further warned that Russian energy revenues are being used to support the war in Ukraine and said drones have entered Moldovan airspace, creating additional security risks.

BREAKING: 🇫🇷 Autumn 2027 is now reportedly being considered in some French intelligence scenarios for a potential major Russian escalation against Europe, according to France Télévisions.

French intelligence services are preparing for scenarios involving a significant Russian attack against Europe, with the timeline reportedly accelerating from the previously discussed 2029 timeframe to autumn 2027.

The scenarios are not limited to conventional warfare. French authorities are also preparing for continued Russian hybrid activity, including cyberattacks, political interference, sabotage and drone attacks.

President Emmanuel Macron has ordered preparations to protect critical infrastructure and sensitive parts of France’s defence-industrial and technological base against potential drone and cyberattacks.

French authorities are also organising security and defence meetings involving local government, police, military representatives, businesses, emergency services and other institutions.

Infrastructure identified as potentially vulnerable includes power plants and networks, railways, telecommunications, drinking-water systems, airports and sensitive defence facilities.

NEW: 🇲🇩 During overnight Russian attacks on Ukrainian territory, once again drones violated Moldovan airspace near the border with Ukraine.

Around 04:00, Moldovan border patrols reported several unidentified aircraft near Căplani. Two were observed flying through Moldovan airspace toward Olănești–Cistovodnoe, while another entered from the direction of Crocmaz before leaving Moldova toward Căplani–Crutoiarovca.

At 05:19, Ukraine informed Moldova that an object had fallen and caught fire around 1.5–2 km from the border near Troițcoe.

Following a joint search, Moldova confirmed that no fragments or explosion site were found on Moldovan territory. Ukrainian authorities reported finding an explosion site and unidentified fragments approximately 1.2 km inside Ukrainian territory.

JUST IN: 🇲🇩 A drone has now been confirmed to have exploded near Colonița, Moldova.

Fragments of a drone including its engine, have been discovered on a field near the village of Colonița, around 10 km from Chișinău.

Authorities have secured the area, with specialised explosive-technical experts from the Moldovan Police now examining the fragments.

Additional components were found within a radius of around 100 metres from the explosion site.

BREAKING: Saudi Arabia will supply NO crude oil to European refiners next month after a drone attack forced the shutdown of its key East-West pipeline, Bloomberg reports. The supply cut reportedly applies to all European customers with long-term contracts.
