@renya_s_t I believe she was very fond of racing, she won the grand national in 1985! You are right that Arkle was a companion more than a racehorse. After he retired he became her riding horse before he passed away.
@renya_s_t I found a little bit more. It seems he carried the most weight in the race by 6 pounds. He refused to jump fence 15 "The Chair" which is about 5ft high and the hardest fence in the race. I found some paddock footage too.
@renya_s_t After some digging I believe I located some colour footage of the 1966 Grand National with the jockey before the race and at the very start of Funjino O in the bottom left, closest to the camera.
@badoodledoo You should watch the 2000(year) 2000 guineas. It might have gone under your radar given GC didn't win but it has King's Best. Sir Micheal Stoute stated was the best miler he ever trained. I think he is related to Eishin Flash.
@kohanesexual As head of the Daryz fandom you must maintain faith and composure. Based on the Prix Ganay he doesn't have any issues with quicker ground.
@kohanesexual@randrazor@mewgami I agree in tempering expectations but as of right now I can't see anything from the 3yr olds to rival him. Maybe the Derby will show us something, some may rapidly develop throughout the summer but it's hard not to see him as the strongest horse in the Arc this year.
@kohanesexual@VanAdrian25 Daryz is looking a lot like his sire. Seems to have the versatility from a mile to 12 furlongs. Solid bay as well so he has his look lol.
