Hey pastors, you may want to think strategically about where your instrumentalists are placed on stage as you pray at the end of your sermon. Otherwise this (which is me) could be you.
@dougwmize@DJ__Horton Well-said, Doug! I agree wholeheartedly. @DJ_Horton would be very near the bottom of a list of preachers that could be accused of not understanding the task of expository preaching. He does it with excellence weekly, has a doctorate in it, and has taught many others to do it.
@steviesmith@MattSmethurst Thanks. That's quite helpful. I especially benefited from this sentence: "In the case of well-placed shame for sin the pain ought to be there but it ought not to stay there. If it does, it’s owing to unbelief in the promises of God." Lingering shame is probably what I balked at.
@Coach_Poppie We are blessed to have you and excited about the present and future. Clemson won two ACC titles while I was a student here, and we look forward to seeing that again soon. I’ll be encouraging people to show up at Littlejohn!
@jleeinGA@JoshuaBarzon@JennMGreenberg It’s making the rounds again. It has been shared thousands and thousands of times. Make sure you see Beth Moore’s comments on the original post (which is pinned to my Twitter account).
@lukedsimmons I had a doctorate in expository preaching and had been preaching for over 20 years BEFORE taking part in the Preaching Lab Cohort, and the cohort was still one of the best things I've ever done to improve my preaching. Luke is great!
@ClemsonTigerNet@MDavidHood and @gray_mann21 - What isn’t much? And where at TigerNet should we read more about this? The teaser sounds interesting (and a little cryptic), but I have no clue which article on the site I’m supposed to click on to “read more on TigerNet.
Gambling is never a net positive. It was not created to produce favorable outcomes for individuals, families or society.
Sure it can deliver short term thrills and revenue, but it is designed for you to lose; your resources, your respect and your relationships. It serves as a gateway to greater bondage and graver consequences. It is a highway to irreparable harm.
Don’t be surprised when it works.
@RTB_HRoss I started reading my copy today. Three chapters in, I’m loving it. Lots of great technical and historical detail, but still easy to read and understand. Good job!
