UK #Ruby developers: last call for tonight's free @nwrug meetup in Manchester.
We'll be discussing how to handle hundreds of millions in yearly transactions without the complexity that many would lead you to believe is necessary.

@kacemmmmmm@dhh 💯
I was once met with CxO resistance to adopting Rails, questioning “what if it doesn’t scale?”
I calmly explained that we’d simply extract the problematic areas to whatever is most appropriate.
Hundreds of millions in yearly transaction volume later & that day never came.
@strzibnyj Pleasure!
More people need to know about these APIs. Been meaning to record a YouTube video on how to make a really robust, high performance typeahead search component… maybe this is the trigger!
@strzibnyj See: https://t.co/it1IvA66j5
For example, if a user types a backspace, their current in-flight request is invalid, you can use AbortController to cancel it to reduce network traffic.
Those APIs I listed were all vanilla JavaScript.
I'm going to be speaking about scaling #RubyonRails to hundreds of millions in client revenue @nwrug meetup on Thursday 16th in Manchester, my old university city 🙌

I've added an Interop 2026 Proposal for CSS Scroll State: https://t.co/mPwmaBUY4o – please upvote!
It would be nice to remove #JavaScript requirement for various popular design patterns we're all using on the web (floaty navs, scroll shadows etc)
