@DataRepublican mentioned me again, so I wanted to share some thoughts about NGOs, which she does not like, and democracy, which we both like but differ on. 1/16
This was once a serious document written by serious people in both Dem and GOP Admins. Now it reads like a partisan screed, lacking data or analysis or discussion of capabilities or relative threats, filled with typos, and mocks the American public’s intelligence.
When simulation becomes the norm, it weakens the human capacity for discernment. As a result, our social bonds close in upon themselves, forming self-referential circuits that no longer expose us to reality. We thus come to live within bubbles, impermeable to one another. Feeling threatened by anyone who is different, we grow unaccustomed to encounter and dialogue. In this way, polarization, conflict, fear and violence spread. What is at stake is not merely the risk of error, but a transformation in our very relationship with truth.
Left hand on the ground trying not to hit the pavement; right hand still holding a cell phone. ICE person standing with a one handed grip pointing his gun right at the man’s head.
There is nothing about this that we should accept. We all must reject this. This is our government
I was shot at a school shooting at 15. Last night spent locked down at my university while learning of casualties & the many injured. This is not how I imagined life when I was little girl. I miss that carefree child I once was. Thinking of the many affected #BrownUniversity
The Trump admin has shut down the kind of programs intended to identify & address this kind of radicalization, like Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships (CP3) @DHSgov

The murder of Charlie Kirk is part of a disturbing rise in political violence that threatens to hollow out our public life.
A free society relies on the premise that people can speak out without fear or humiliation.
No more political violence.
This is crazy. The Invent2Prevent program was not DEI in any way. It was ingenious & impactful. This is @DHSgov cutting off its nose to spite its face.
Noem uncovers and kills multimillion-dollar, Biden-era DEI, LGBTQ program https://t.co/usGYzqpkhl
Calling @EradicateHate_ a “politicized NGO” is preposterous. It was an honor to speak at the last two EH summits. EH is nonpartisan & focused solely on… *checks notes*… countering hate & violent extremism of all forms.
Explain to me how countering hate is politicized. Gobsmacking self-goal here.
.@Levitt_Matt is right. This article is an egregious example of irresponsible journalism.
Hate is bad, schools should be safe, and truth matters. I’m grateful for @EradicateHate_ and others who work on these programs.

With Samantha Olson for @GNET_research: "The Buffalo shooting echoed a long lineage of racial terror in America from the carnivalesque lynchings of the post-Reconstruction era to the digital livestreamed massacres of today." https://t.co/l6slPWMYjS
New @StateDept shake up: @StateDeptCT will no longer cover violent extremism and is moving from Political Affairs to Arms Control, FSI got cut and so did CSO and GCL (which helped with ISIS war crimes).

If you wondered about the raw emotion from @GovernorShapiro in that press conference these photos speak as to why— this was a fast moving fire and it was meant to inflict harm. He’s not just a governor. He’s a father and a husband and his family was there.
The Chamberlain Network condemns the attack on Governor Shapiro’s residence in the strongest possible terms. Setting fire to a public official’s home isn’t just criminal—it’s meant to drive people out of public service through fear.
