As we await the tabling of the resolution before the United Nations General Assembly to establish #27November as the International Day for the Elimination of Child, Early and Forced Marriage, I am conscious that we are standing at the threshold of a historic moment.

With the @UN General Assembly adopting the resolution by consensus and establishing November 27 as the #InternationalDayAgainstChildMarriage, our Founder, @Bhuwan_Ribhu, expressed his first gratitude to the children and survivors whose courage gave this movement its purpose.

This Day belongs first to them, to their courage, their rights, and their dreams.

It is our promise to every child: their childhood will be protected, their dreams will not be stolen, and we will not stop until we create a #ChildMarriageFreeWorld.

They are the reason we began. They are the reason we must finish what we started.

Today, that call for a #WorldDay against #ChildMarriage is before the @UN General Assembly.

I am deeply grateful to #SierraLeone, #CostaRica, #CaboVerde and #Morocco, and to all the countries that have supported and co-sponsored the resolution, and especially to H.E. Dr Fatima Maada Bio, First Lady of Sierra Leone, for her decisive political leadership in advancing this moment.

The historic resolution to establish #27November as the International Day for the Elimination of Child, Early and Forced Marriage has now been tabled before the United Nations General Assembly. When I first called for this Day at the #CSW70 in March 2026, the purpose was clear: to create a dedicated global platform that strengthens accountability and brings everyone together in unified action to protect every child, especially girls.
