It has been 15 months since @JoeBiden and @SecBlinken appealed multiple orders from federal judges preserving paths to about 20k green cards for many FY-2020 and FY-2021 Diversity Visa lottery winners. Eligible families are in limbo, not knowing their future. They deserve better.
@SenAlexPadilla Senator Padilla, as you are aware, nearly 100, 000 people selected as winners of the Diversity Visa were either denied by the Muslim Ban or never had the opportunity to claim their "win" due to Covid 19 related delays and embassy closures. Does this not warrant public discussion?
NEW I talked to applicants of the visa lottery, incl those fleeing Ukraine, who are fighting the Biden admin in court for green cards
It's one example of the disconnect b/w Biden's words at the lectern and the gov’s litigation on immig in the courtroom.

This ruling is good news for thousands of diversity visa winners who want to pursue the American Dream. Unfortunately, discriminatory obstacles still exist. Together w/ @RepYvetteClarke & @RepGraceMeng, we are fighting for fair & just immigration policies. https://t.co/N5PfG1imws
As we reflect on the 5th anniversary of the #MuslimBan, it’s important for us to remember how we got here.
The story doesn’t end in January 2021--people are still being impacted today. Help us eradicate the ban once and for all.
Take action now➡️https://t.co/MPIFvqA80U
Today we delivered a letter with @NoMuslimBanEver signed by over 100 orgs calling on @POTUS to provide relief to those who have been impacted by the #MuslimBan🧵

Keep seeing reports about immigration being on the chopping block in BBB. We've seen these reports all summer and now into autumn. It's almost like some outlets seek to project to the lawmakers via their reporting instead of just letting lawmakers speak for themselves. Annoying.
.@TravelGov wiped their website clean of any trace of rescinded Tiered Prioritization Scheme tonight. Somewhere @StephenM is crying under a rock. Good.
Our immigration policy associate, @DaishiMT, spoke to the @nytimes last week about how strengthening family immigration and clearing the visa backlog through the #BuildBackBetter Act would help reunite his family. #ValueOurFamilies

We call upon @AILANational@blesjm1@jactioncenter@KarenTumlin@NILC or any other organisation working for immigration equity to litigate to enjoin the 4 tier prioritisation scheme for all visa classes permanently, to stop, so good people don't lose out to bad policy. #DV2022
We can’t let another day go by without investing in universal child care, paid family leave, climate action, lower prescription costs, affordable housing, and immigration reform.
Now is the time to get President Biden's agenda over the finish line.
Our nations #Dreamers have been waiting for far too long for a pathway to citizenship.
We must act on this opportunity and get this done - we will get this done.
