Nigerian Twitter has really fallen off when it comes to meaningful discussions and how we approach issues.

A blogger posts a video of a law student participating in a moot court, and instead of discussing his performance, people have turned turned it into an opportunity to mock his looks.

At this point, it feels like the only things people are interested in on this app are celebrity fights, relationship drama, insults, and other unnecessary controversies.

We’ve gradually lost the ability to have intelligent conversations without turning everything into mockery and entertainment.

Like I always say,

A Society is a microcosm of its people. A government is a microcosm of its people. Every country on earth has the leadership it deserves.

The government is from the people.

A Society of good people cannot tolerate bad governance. A Society of incorruptible people cannot withstand a corrupt system.

Isr*el’s Embassy In Ghana Uses School Children To Fill Up Seats At Boycotted Film Festival

Nearly a year after Ghanaian President John Mahama delivered an impassioned speech at the 2025 UN General Assembly, in which he called out Isr*el’s ongoing g*nocide in G*za, Isr*el is using Ghanaian children to whitewash its image.

On August 30, the Isr*eli Embassy in Ghana, in collusion with two local schools and West African cinema chain @SilverbCinemas , bused in school children to fill out empty seats in a successfully boycotted film festival it had organized.

Kenneth Roth is undoubtedly one of the most dedicated propagandists for anti-China propaganda. He racks his brains to smear and discredit China, fabricating various charges, even exploiting the recent mudslide disaster to his advantage, dismissing scientifically proven causes of natural disasters as trivial, and falsely claiming China's significant achievements in developing ethnic minority regions like Xinjiang and Tibet as "genocide."

Now let's look at Joshua Wong's charges. Since the 2014 Umbrella Movement, Wong, at the age of 15, abandoned his normal student life and instead devoted himself to anti-Hong Kong and anti-state "street politics," gaining notoriety and receiving "high attention" from Hong Kong's "anti-government" forces and the West, including a personal meeting with figures like Pelosi. He was seen as having value, capable of inciting and motivating more young people in Hong Kong to take to the streets, for which he personally reaped considerable benefits. Until the 2019 anti-extradition bill protests, he was involved in numerous lawsuits, including the June 21st siege of police headquarters case, the 2019 anti-mask law protest case, and the Legislative Council "35+" primary election case (a plan to indiscriminately veto the budget after securing a majority of seats in the Legislative Council, forcing the Chief Executive to dissolve the Legislative Council and resign, attempting to paralyze the operation of the Hong Kong SAR government).

Including the period from July 1st to November 23rd, 2020 (after the Hong Kong National Security Law came into effect), Joshua Wong conspired with Nathan Law (who is now in exile in the UK) and others to continue the "international front" through social media, foreign media interviews, and articles, requesting foreign or overseas institutions to impose sanctions, blockades, or other hostile actions against the Hong Kong SAR or the People's Republic of China.

Wong's question is: would any of these charges constitute a serious violation of the law in the US and Western countries?

Joshua Wong currently faces multiple charges related to national security and the anti-extradition bill movement. He formally pleaded guilty in the Hong Kong High Court to the latest charge of "conspiracy to collude with foreign or overseas forces to endanger national security." Prior to this, he had already been convicted of "conspiracy to subvert state power" and sentenced to 4 years and 8 months in prison for his involvement in the "47-person case," as well as multiple charges of participating in and inciting illegal assemblies, and had already served nearly 6 years in prison. His decision to plead guilty and submit a letter of appeal indicates that he has accepted reality. Pleading guilty to expedite the determination of his total sentence is a pragmatic approach to stop judicial infighting and strive for maximum sentence reduction.

All of this, including his initial actions, the court's verdict, and the purpose of his guilty plea, was conducted in accordance with the law. Anyone still hyping this outcome as an "injustice" or "political persecution" either lacks basic understanding of the rule of law or is feigning ignorance to deliberately launch attacks and defamation.

It is hypocritical and tragic to watch Nigerian news networks ridicule Sahelian states like Burkina Faso, claiming that their acquisition of advanced air defense systems is merely designed to protect military leaders rather than the people.

This media narrative is deeply ironic, especially when you consider that the entire security architecture of the Nigerian state is organized primarily to guarantee the survival of the regimes in Aso Rock, even at the direct expense of ordinary citizens.

The regime in Abuja travel in sprawling convoys of heavily armored, bulletproof luxury SUVs, while public hospitals lack basic functional ambulances to respond to life-threatening emergencies, and local police patrol vehicles meant to protect vulnerable communities are left in dilapidated conditions.

The administration in Aso Rock has spent billions of dollars procuring sophisticated Western and Israeli surveillance infrastructure, not to track down armed bandits, dismantle kidnapping syndicates, or secure rural farmlands, but to monitor civilian communications, track dissidents, and abduct critics who dare to speak truth to power.

As the saying goes: every accusation is simply a confession.
